Would reality check cancel this?
A 0 power skill cancel a 3 power skill? No thanks! But I'm open to other suggestions on things that could cancel it.
Xavius2006-02-19 17:51:31
There's always critique.

Illusions Skill - somewhere around Fabled
Syntax: WEAVE ROOF
Power: 3 (any)
Through great effort of will, you may temporarily create a roof over your head from an illusion. This will essentially transform the room into an indoor room for the duration of the effect, preventing all attempts to fly, touch cubix, and use any other ability that depends on being outdoors.
Thoughts? *waits for the smackdown from cubix owners*
I don't see any reason why giving 1 guild in mag/celest each will solve the problem for all the basin.
If the problem is cubix's change the cubixs, don't do this.

Well I think the problem applies more to the cities since you cannot go right onto commune territory with a cubix

Distort for nexus/villages has been discused as a viable alternative in dealing with cubix's/havening.
In both circumstances I believe we've come to the conclusion that that is what the skill/artis are ment to do however.
In any case the distort idea is a much better one then this.

a cubix lets you pop INSIDE magnagora/celest on prime? I didn't know that.
Athana2006-02-19 18:31:30
No but the cosmic and elemental planes yes
Geb2006-02-19 19:05:18
How about we use the same solution Imperian created to combat instant escapes with wings. We give cubix/prism holders the ability to fly. We then add on the requirement that a person must be flying in order to use the cubix/prism to travel to limbo. Perhaps someone can come up with a role-play reason to cover that change? I do know that it would eliminate the problem of people being able to instantly escape captures when in any outside area.
Unknown2006-02-19 19:35:55
If you want to make 'cubixing' out harder, how about adding a requirement of being alone in the room? Would make cubix a little more personal too, a group would have to tesseract in. Makes sense?
I don't really like the initial idea of ROOF. Mainly because mages could easily dispel it (?) while others would have to spend 8 power to critique. Sorry if that's incorrect, I don't know much about illusions and don't have critique, it's how I understand it from previous posts.

I like that idea a lot.
Vesar2006-02-19 22:12:06
Skipped all the replies, but my opinion is (and I'm sure this has been stated) is I don't want a 3 power ability to totally negate my 2000cr purchase. That's insane.

the artifact doesn't advertise free easy escape route. They got conglut in limbo now, surely it won't be to much to have this, mage only, power costing, easily dispelled by another mage (and possible critique) skill to make escape a bit harder.
Why do we need a easyish to get skill that looks like its basically designed to stop a 2000 credit artifact? Ive nothing against ways of stopping the cubix but this skill looks like its just designed for negating an expensive artifact for no real reason.
If people are really that concerned about the cubix start selling an artifact that will prevent all cubix use in the same room or adject areas or something.
Tiran2006-02-23 09:47:59
It's about 150-175 credits to get to fabled, I'm not sure of the exact number. If that seems a little low, put it up to 50% mythical or something and up the power to 4 or 5. The only time it would likely be used is with a known cubixer. If it doesn't last long, you can't really set it up before hand, and in one-on-one combat, it reduces the ability of one to attack. About the only use I see for it is in group combat, and even then, like has been mentioned, if you can get out of the room, you can get away.
Puts a little spice back into life in my opinion.

Making a 2000cr artifact less useful is a bad idea.
Making a near useless 8 power skill useful is a good idea. Some envoy should vote to have critique not be a lame trans skill...

Propose something.

This is just really one of those times where I'm going to complain about something, and not have any ideas to fix it.
Unknown2006-02-23 18:00:21
What if Critique was a defense that raises illusions detection by like 50%. Fair, or not?
Richter2006-02-23 18:05:39
Neat, but if you're trans arts, you already auto-detect illusions at a very high rate.
Unknown2006-02-23 18:10:28
I thought it's just 30% or so... well, I have no other ideas.

With a 50% or lower chance of curing, it could work.
