I was there at the start but was one of the many who quit in disgust when Viravain kicked out the 4th (5th?) person who had previously quested/rped for the commune to be made, some of them for like 6 months RL, because they weren't in her order, which was mainly composed of people who only started talking about Glomdoring after it had been made. All in all it was a very unimpressive "leadership" to be under and one can see how it's turned out for the commune, to the lack of surprise of pretty much everyone. It was a big part of why I stopped playing Lusternia for around 9 months though I'm recently back.

huh.gif Viravain had no Order back in the beginning. Moralis was put into Her Order AFTER the fact.

And Her Order - which again, was made after - was composed of people who wanted to bring back Gloriana, who were then perverted to be for Glomdoring. These people worked before Glomdoring was made, but after the Disciples of Crow fell out of public sight.

Yes, I would agree that Glomdoring's leadership was shaky at first - however, it really REALLY has pulled through, specifically with the leaders such as Xenthos, Shayle, and Xavius.
Sidra2006-02-20 03:56:31
Glomdoring has really grown into a great org since she kicked out all those people, in my opinion. Maybe not militarily, but their actual essence is great.
Daganev2006-02-20 04:09:45
As far as I know, the reason why the original people did not become the leadership was because there was a sort of RP quest to create the leadership and the previous DoC leadership was so certain that they must be made leaders that they failed to see the quest.

The quest was the ability to blindly follow Viravain and reocgnize Glomdoring as Hers. In addition, in order to make Glomdoring less likely to be a "puppet" of any organization leaders were picked from every organization in the basin at the time. That ment you had various people from Serenwilde , Celest, and Magnagora, the Summer court, and the DoC clan become leaders. One person who is often forgotten about as being a member of the DoC clan was Richter.

I know that the only reason why I was picked as a guildmaster was because I was able to learn from Watching Gwynever and Moralis how to interact properly with Viravain, and I was the only warrior who did so.

ICly, however, we like to say that the group of plotters that came from Magnagora with the intention of taking it over, won the political fight.

I'd actually be somewhat interested in hearing her story, OOCly- would be interesting to see how it differs from what I experienced. happy.gif

I can dig through my extensive logs and post it here if noone objects.

I found both it and the tale I told Jazlyn three years prior about it. Should Ibby's story be posted here without her consent? Should I PM it to the interested people instead?
Shiri2006-02-20 04:32:21
Ibby should come back post it herself. losewings.gif
Daganev2006-02-20 04:32:47
oddd. I thought I responded.. anyway..

@xenthos: Before your time, but Chade and Nayl weren't leaders just because

@shorlen: I would love to see the stories, don't think anyone can be hurt at this point in time.

Well Jasper, I said "weren't in her order" mainly because it was nicer than saying "weren't kissing her..." but that's all behind me now mellow.gif

I think Jelaludin sent her flowers once, back when she was cute wub.gif

Amazing how the ill-informed, voluntarily or otherwise, still make strides to promote the exact same information that has been proven incorrect more than once now, unless people leaving accounts to Myself 'kicking them out'.
Daganev2006-02-20 05:43:32
I could be mistaken, but I don't remember ever having Daganev kiss Her butt, although I did end up Joining Her order at one point.

Bau was selected BY Glomdoring over Visaeris and everyone else. Arilyon was selected because she was the best druid fighter over Visaeris. I was selected because I actually put forth effort into creating a philosophy for the guild and had an idea that was unique when Visaeris couldnt even be bothered to do that. None of us were in Viravain's order when we were selected.

The problem wasnt the leadership it was those who thought they knew better. Everyone came in with their ideals how of Glomdoring was supposed to be, and I can honestly say that it did get better when certain people left who did want to go along with the plan.

The Shadow Court threw Visaeris out. Viravain wasnt even around when it happened. Erion was kicked out because he abused his powers.

Reasons why those that quested for Glomdoring didn't, for the most part, become the leaders:

1. Our questing for Glomdoring had nothing to do with Viravain. She was the curveball that made it all wierd. All the RP was going in a very different direction before she came. Not to say that it went awry, but it changed very much afterwards.

2. They sucked as leaders. Sometime, go back and read Magnagora's first posts, Visaeris was just mean, mean and rash. Guido and Jack were both kinda nuts, though they were my favorites in the group. Erion was meh, just meh. The twins backstabbed us so many times I don't know who trusted them when, but I think that Yukari eventually did get some kind of leadership position.

Of the old school original DoC, I think that only Yukari and I got leadership positions, and I was the only one who got an original position, being the first admin of the Ebonguard, so... *strut*
Iridiel2006-02-22 11:43:48
Not to say all those histories coming around of _some_ of the old Crows and being informed beforehand of what was happening in an absolutely OOC way.

I wouldn't like cheaters leading a new organization, frankly.
Unknown2006-02-22 15:13:27
The key difference between The Summer Court and the DoC was that it was not the intent of the Court to set themselves up as leaders. We may have had members who craved power but our primary focus was always restoring Gloriana. We knew we had almost no chance and some of the stuff we tried was pretty silly now that I look back at it. I even resurrected one of the Dark Council and led them to the Well of Souls to try and force them into it. We spent literally RL days poking and prodding Gibber.

We didn't have a hierarchy within the clan until Jasper started playing around with the clan privs. At first we didn't have a clan. Some of us used an MSN board to coordinate for a while. Anytime we thought we were getting close to being discovered we would completely drop our projects and not talk to each other in game for days. I thought we were fairly good at keeping our existence a secret. Now I'm not so sure I think Xenthos and Lyth were probably spies.

Viravain was a curveball for us as well. We had members speak to her a couple of times but she appeared to scatter brained to be of any help. It was Lisaera who told us to go back and give it another try. From that point on we had no control over anything. Events swept by us and you could tell the Admin were carrying the event somewhere and we just had to wait, watch, and see.

Though I would be curious as to who I was spying for... the only people I ever remember talking to about it were the Moonhart Circle after events started to outpace us, and that was done by a majority of the Court as I recall. happy.gif I was too much of a newbie at the time to really have any other agendas, though I am kind of surprised that you all inducted me.

I also remember trying to feed Gib glowing carrots to "purify the taint" or some silly thing like that, since he kept crying for tainted grasses. Ahh, the good old days...
Unknown2006-02-22 16:19:38
Yeah Xenthos fed no more information back than half of the other members did. A lot of info was gotten using dreamweaving.

The rest of us were surpised as well but we trusted Jasper. I was concerned because someone had told me you were often seen with someone from Magnagora.

We tried not only the carrots but we tried to have Yojimbo (sp?) the furrikin alchemist work his magic on the grass from Glomdoring. Good times.

Hey, won't the first few posts of the Night Coven be from the Summer Court days? That would be interesting to see again.
