So here is the story: Malicia, Munsia, Soll, and I decided we were going Kaervas hunting. We kept tracking him back and forth between the Facility; however, by dumb luck, he kept popping back and forth between Prime using a rather interesting if not in-question combination of abilities.
Basically, he would divine haven from the Facility to get back to Prime leaving his ship parked at the Facility. He would then use prize return to get back to it thus back to the Facility, Crumkindivia, etc.
Anyways, we kept tracking him and found his ship at Crumkindivia. He was of course gone and on Prime - but, Malicia could access his manse. So... she snuck us onboard, I piloted us somewhere safe in aetherspace without critters, and we waited for him to prize return. He did and bam!
Important lessons:
1. Ban enemies from your manse
2. Don't leave your command chair open for anyone

Heh, nice. It's a good idea to have permissions set. Currently, I've got my manse permissions set to individual people, and module perms are all Deepnight citizens. No way anyone else could fly my ship. I wanna see the log!
Soll2006-02-21 18:41:08
Correction. Munsia, Malicia, and Narsrim decided they were going Kaervas hunting. I, being the innocent victim, was merely forced to join in and happened to, with dumb luck, get the killing hit.
Kaervas2006-02-21 18:42:03
My permissions were only wrong because of the bug that got Fain, Terentia and Hajamin switched somehow, the perm for order members changed to allow Terentia order members in. And wow, it took 4 of you to kill me, good job.
Oh and by the way:
You form a picture of a finely wrought mahogany chair, within your mind's eye
and will yourself to your prized possession.
Your are flung through the aetherways as your desire for a finely wrought
mahogany chair is made manifest.

Heh. If you would stand and fight, I could easily kill you by myself
Kaervas2006-02-21 18:44:37
Rich coming from the guy who spent an entire FFA sprinting around and hiding in the mountains where my demesne doesn't hit.
Narsrim2006-02-21 18:46:48
You thunderclapped me in your demesne, did I die? No, I just had 8% reserves and thus not enough power to use Orange once poison gas started setting in so I had to play careful.
Once we had that established, I toaded you but thanks to dust storm, missed icewalling an exit so you escaped. However, I did toad curse - which minus a small error on my behalf would have been your death.
Afterwards, you heartstopped so I won that FFA. Just wanted clear that up

You know what, I really couldn't give a crap, just post the log where 4 of you teamed me and go stroke your ego over it.
Arix2006-02-21 18:49:52
Team stroking?
Xenthos2006-02-21 18:58:26
So... the point of this thread is...
Um...
Four people managed to kill one who walked into a demesne unprepared? Woo?

Why, oh why do I get the firm impression of a child seeking attention from his parent from this thread. It just screams, "Mommy, Mommy look at me! Look at what I did!"

Now that I think about it, it would have been cool if they had rammed you and taken over the ship or something.
Kaervas2006-02-21 19:09:27
Except it was docked and the only reason they got in at all was because a bug switched the Fain and Terentia perms.
Richter2006-02-21 19:11:29
Hence one of the reasons why it wasn't as cool as it could have been.
Narsrim2006-02-21 19:11:59
We tried to ram it and steal the power, but Malicia accidently blew it up

Amusing how these sorts of comments are void in Murphy's beatdown threads or the old Astral Battle threads. Someone has a grudge

This isn't really aether piracy. Aether piracy would be you shot his ship some, then boarded it. You guys found it parked somewhere, jumped into the backseat and waited for him to come back. This is more aether carjacking guys
Arix2006-02-21 19:29:20
So, you snuck onto an aethership, hijacked it, and killed it's owner.
I'm guessing you want a medal now, or something? Maybe a cookie?

Narsrim2006-02-21 19:31:57
Actually no, we hijacked, waited for him to return, which was like 20 minutes later... and setup for the kill.
If I had to describe, I say it was the most calculated and devious assassination in modern times.

*dodges the spray*
I still think it's akin to lying in the back seat. When someone posts a log of using a ramhead and having a group fight inside a ship whilst some pyrinnes are closing in on both ships I'll be interested.
