Few important questions.
Can you make money as an artisan?
Is it more a 'commission' tradeskill or a 'shop-stocking' tradeskill?
What, exactly, do you make?

Most of it has to be comissioned, though there are some items like kegs, pipes, boxes, etc. that you can put in shops. Its mostly furniture but there are some useful things that are needed everyday such as pipes and kegs for refills.
Good skill, but expensive comm-wise.

Only way you'll make any money is probably of kegs, and pipes, boxes currently drop when you leave, or the person holding them leaves, which makes it pretty stupid to actually put and jewelry in since you know, even if you get a lock and key, someone can just come and take the whole box.
The other furniture you basically just get what ever they pay you for actually making it, in the profit. It's a good skill yes, but one that's only there for the rich, well the majority of the skills.

Because I don't want to make another thread, what do you make with Arts?

Arts, like the common skill?
Tarot cards, runestones, tinderboxes, pipes, buckets, shovels, vials, bottles, shot glasses, tints, palettes, paintings, statues, carve miniatures...think that's it.
