Tzara is a damned good fighter. This is the third spar out of three, she won all of them. Gave up on wrack because of the good tipheret and aeon shielding. Here it is, help me out! Tzara says I got her at 86 health, but I think she was just being nice.
Screw it, can't double post which is retarded. The text file:

For having that little health, Balizar was tough to nail. My illusions were quite a bit off, but I'm coming back from a little break.
I wasn't just being nice, when he hit me with the quickened cosmicfires or whatever, he did get me down to 84 health. Which, from nearly 4.6k, is a bit of a feat.
Mmmhmm.
(EDIT: From the look of the log, you weren't rereading the Scroll of Protection I gave you, and you healed your own love potion. Saved me a bit of work. Might want to look into both those things.)

only because of omen/sensitivity. Didn't work though. Gonna lust you sooner from now on. Also gotta try to torture your ass, didn't try because it takes power when it fails.. and your writhing was really good.
Sidra2006-02-22 05:54:31
Hm.
First, I had always thought that Guardians had no reason to reject? I thought that once you ordered your demon to attack that it would attack whether or not you were lusted. Though I havn't had much experience as a Guardian, so my intel could be way off.
Second, if your Cosmic fires aren't doing much, and you're just stacking it on with the afflictions of Sting and your demon for the sake of using your equilibrium, I'd say you might want to try a Scroll of Curses. That way you can drop 2 random afflictions and then your demon, and increase your chances of overwhelming their curing.

'overwhelming' someone like Tzara with afflictions is not possible. Also, I was stupid by rejecting her, dumb mistake. Omen/sensitized cosmicfire does enough damage to a viscanti with quicken. Close but not close enough. Think my biggest mistake was leaving out torture.
Torak2006-02-22 10:40:22
First, don't bother with paralysis against a mage. Invest paranoia shackles anorexia instead, don't reject her and keep protection up. When you are so low on health timeslip and shield, don't try to run because of the rubble unless you can tank atleast 1 staff + still. You need to work more for one thing, I noticed you leeching and firing at the same time which doesn't work. Mix in omen and sensitivity if you have it also.
Cwin2006-02-22 15:07:38
Alright, let's see:
First things.. ugg, it's as hard to figure out what you're doing from your end as it is when fighting you. Blasted ents.
Given that:
You need a bigger sign that says your opponent shielded. You just keep hitting it over and over. Picture it this way: Every time you hit their Shield two of your past actions have now been removed. Do two afflictions, then hit shield and you're back to step one. Hit their shield five times and you just wasted your demon's doublehit.
Quickening.. wow. That's something to make you drool. The first one worked well for what you had. Stupidity would've helped but, blah.
The second though: I see where the comment of choosing an attack comes in. You do need to set a specific means of death and make EVERY move work for that specific goal. In fact, every hit should be planned in that matter. Basic "I have idea how nihilists fight" example:
Manner of death: manakill
subgoals to reach said goal:
1: Hinder their offensive so I don't die in 2 seconds
Start the fight with Jestered Aeon and Lust. Demon works on web. Goal achived when attacks slow down.
2: Mess up shielding and mana healing
Quickened Moon cards while the demon uses everything in the book. Keep up the pressure. If Stupidty is seen try for aeon.
3: Drain the mana and slaughter
Wait for Aeon/Stupidty to set in first. Second it seems secure:
Demon set to shackles
Quicken, leech/leechleechleech/quickleech LEECHELEECHLEECHLEECHLEECHELEECHLEECHLEECHLEECHELEECHLEECHLEECH
Until either mana is 1/2 gone or their curing/attacks/shield normalize. If latter, back to step 1 or change killing method. If former, wait for demon and kill.
Note, that plan is created by a Ur'Guard who has never played a Mage before and, thus, probably stinks to high heaven. The ONLY thing you should pull from that example is the mentality of attacking in stages and making ever move count for the goal. Note, for example, that though I wanted a mana kill NO attempt to leech was made untill the final blows and I didn't plan to Aeon near the end, even if Aeon fades during the quickens: Early leeches on an unhindered person just means they cure and I wanted a rushkill at the end: No time to think. YOUR plan will be different, maybe you want early leeches to make them think you're going for manakill. Maybe you want some Aeon attacks midway to force shielding. Maybe you don't want to mana kill, making an entire different plan. Maybe you think the demon shackling is stupid.
The point is: PLAN and STICK TO THE PLAN. Don't waste your balance on something that can't be used to reach the Kill.
Ok, enough of THAT rant.. let's move on.
Question: Isn't is possible to look at a person's mana.
After the second quickening, you got hit with stupidity that wasn't instantly cured. I notice you're using 2x focus mind. Do you HAVE focus mind? If you do, check to make sure it's working. If not then change it.
Bah, even if you do, set up a timer to try to cure it again after a second if it fails (you don't see Focus mind start and pennyroyal wasn't eaten).
You caught it just in time though with allheale, though.
After that you, yet again hyperabuse timeslip and shield up afterwards. Cute Evilness there. The combo's a good way to stop their momentum and get back your edge.
After that, though, you used Hanged Man and Aeon. Blah, since by now you should notice how it's not working.
Codecheck:
A deep, foreboding hum emanates from the tainted earth, and then you are
suddenly slammed into the ground by an irresistable force.
1630h, 3313m, 3009e, 10p exkdbp-
You may apply another salve to yourself.
1630h, 3313m, 3009e, 10p exkdbp-
You are no longer stunned.
*** NO MORE STUN! ***
*** NO MORE STUN! ***
wake
---
After the stun: Stand. You can even go so far as autostand EVERY time you see you aren't stunned, no matter the reason. Near the end you didn't attack at all because you would be on the ground and didn't stand up.
And that's that.
I'll write an overall in a little bit. For now, note that this is hypercritical and shouldn't be a judge of your overall ability: it's just pointing out details and nitpicks. Honestlly, you can make ANYONE sound bad that way.

Torak and Cwin, I wub you guys thanks for the advice
"Question: Isn't is possible to look at a person's mana." -> there is a skill named contemplation in discernment that does it, but its about at the mythical skillrank
Narsrim, how do you push 4.4k health as a mugwump?

actually there's a lower skill, contemplate, that shows only their mana

Ahh.. Yah, it stinks when you don't have a certain skill. A wounding warrior without behead/disembowl is just BLAH.
I did cry about that hp as well. Before Jacquin I always played low hp characters. Now that I've felt having 4k hp unserged I'm NOT turning back.
Anyway, overall you did very well. I think what hurt you was the fact that you love web and aeon and Tzara stole it from you. If either could stick better I bet you would've won. You have a few bugs in your system that need to be squeltched, but otherwise, all you need is just an alternative method for when Aeon/Web fails. By how it sounds, strait cosmics would've worked (even if Quickening falls, you can still pump in 1-3 more cosmics before the healing catches up. Do a few tests to find out how much damage you do, do an early Assess, and try to keep track of how much damage you're dishing out compared to healing. Same goes for Leech)
Sidenote: I just realized something.. ever try Quickening + Aeon? Even if they shield you can still strip it and get the second in.
Second sidenote: God I can't watch this too much. You're going to make me switch to Nihilist. I love my guild: don't make me switch, please.

Quickening is for equilibrium, tarot works on balance.
Narsrim2006-02-22 17:27:40
Nature so needs Quickening *duck*
Cwin2006-02-22 17:32:49
Athletics needs a Balance version of Quickening. Now THAT will be a nice trans skill.

Yep. It's why I try to aeon/stupidity/anorexia before the quicken. Blah. I need to trans necro and also get soulless. Just can't wrack certain races *cough faeling* tankiest race EVER. *shake fist at Iblis* Now I know what Lyco meant when he said no Nihilist could beat him.

You need to trans necro alright. You cost the city a fortune in power through immolations. And you're seriously poor at replacing it *scold*

Not really my job. I try (unsuccessfully a lot of the time) not to step on Devris's toes.
But sometimes I wonder whether Balizar is in fact working as part of your Opperation: "Gorgogs for the Win" project.
Tomorrow, the Mother Moonhart is just in time when she passes the Megalith of Doom. Opperation "Gorgogs for the Win" has been successful. Your mass tainting moving will never stand against her and her almighty more power than all other nexuses in the Basin :cheerleader kick:
