George R.R. Martin (He has written much more than A Song of Ice and Fire, and all quite good or very good)

Neil Stephenson Criptonomicon

Neil Gaiman both in the Sandman comics as in literature. Good Omens with Terry Pratchett might be a good introduction to his non-comic books.

Terry Pratchett, of course. All from him. Everything. In english, no translated to spanish though.

Terry Goodkind, Jordan, Eddings, Simon R. Green, that kind of fast reading silly books that makes you have a laugh in endless sagas. The Soap Opera authors of the fantasy genre smile.gif

I read quite a lot and almost about everything so if I have to list all the authors we would run out of forum memory smile.gif But this list has some of the latest ones I've read.

I felt that the 100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, was okay but it never really got off the ground. It just was continuously pulling you down.

Emily Bronte- Wuthering Heights, anything by the Bronte sisters is good really.

Piers Anthony is my favouritist!!! I've loved his books for so long now, although I get the feeling that his books appealed to me more so during puberty, now that I’m older they seem to all mould into one big mess of puns!!

I Loved Daphne du Maurier Rebecca, Jamaica Inn, and My Cousin Rachael, although I didn't like My Cousin Rachael very much.

I can't say I liked Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code very much the writing was average and the plot was predictable. Although I felt quite smart when he kept telling us all those facts. Though it annoyed me that so many people take it too actually be facts, and not just theories. There is nothing worse then someone trying to be intellectual, and using all of his Da Vinci code facts as their knowledge.

I quite liked The City and the Pillars by Gore Vidal.

I really liked Phillip Pullmans Dark Materials trilogy which is supposed to be in the midst of being made into a movie, however silly over-reactive Christians are having such a fit over it because it is against organized religion. It’s annoying too because C.S. Lewis's Narnia had virtually no one burning down the sets, and throwing huge tanties because it was written by a devote Christian.

However my favourite book of all time has to be Captain Correlli's Mandolin by Louis de Berniere. I love the scene where Pelagia is watching Mandras swimming in the nude. Its just so beautiful!

I consider myself a rather dedicated "fantasy litereture" reader.. here are a few of my favourites

George R R Martin- Song of Ice and Fire is nothing short of amazing.
Roger Zelazny- Jack of Shadows, The Great book of Amber(the whole series, loved every minute of it)
J K rowling- Harry Potter, dunno... not the best, but I really like it smile.gif

Stephen king- Insomnia and the true winner: "The Dark Tower series"

I loved that series! The best series/books I read thus far, no doubt about it.

Say true, say thankya
