It's very simple, it's already been done elsewhere.
MESSAGES FROM
Lists all messages from that player.

I just sign into the website. The listing there is much nicer then in-game.
Richter2006-02-27 17:56:16
(I wish the RM bug would be fixed as well)
But yeah, this is a nice idea, simplifies things a bit.

I just delete all of mine every few days
Richter2006-02-27 18:34:16
Well, so do I, I hate having messages, it means I haven't done something yet.
Soll2006-02-27 18:52:26
I normally keep my messages minimal, but I never delete them all automatically. I love having messages with stupid numbers on. Up to #3394 (system): 02/27 03:14 "Your access to the Moonhart Mother Tree has been blocked."' Makes me feel good, even if the message is pants.
Never ever going to reset it back to 1.

I'm only up to 660 some, and I useally get 5 or so messages a weave about power.
...or did you get 200 or so messages when all those flowers decayed?
Ashteru2006-02-27 19:34:23
Up to around 900....and 100 of them are decaying vials/jewelry...
Daganev2006-02-27 19:34:50
Umm can't you search through your messages the same way you can search through logs?

Not to my knowledge, explain?
Unknown2006-02-27 20:30:25
just... why would you keep so many messages?
This is why there is a "delmsg #" command.
I doubt 3000+ messages per person is good for server lag either.

I only have about 9 messages, because I do use 'delmsg #'. I just never use 'delmsg all', thus the number isn't reset to 1.

Gave them to Tsu before they decayed.

I just tried, Daganev, you can't. Unless you have some super secret trick with an unintuitive syntax.
Daganev2006-02-28 01:49:21
Hmm, nope, I just seemed to remember there being a way to read all your messages at once, and in that syntax you could search for posts.. but I can't seem to find that syntax.

I keep my messages (around 2500) for posterity, as they are a good reminder of what important things have occured in my past when I need to go back for a reminder. Plus I do a lot of messaging to myself to keep track of things I'd otherwise forget.

Yes, I noticed the next day, because I forgot I had them before I signed off.
Then I got smart and started decorating a few places in the Seren. I divided the flowers into different types and had a few of certain ones around in certain environments ... such as, I think I had orchids and snapdragons in the swamp, and tulips in the hills, and so on and so forth. People were finding them around a bit then, too, and giving them to other people.

Quick somebody pooka Soll into delmsg all, so cruel.
Richter2006-03-01 22:15:44
Doubt that's forceable.
Edit: It would be, however, issueable.
