Ooh right, let them keep it.. like they did with Priests in Aetolia... Damn it would be awesome to learn to fight in aetolia and have credits and be killing people now with skills they have never seen before and probabbly removed all thier triggers for!
There are still a few priests. Likewise, Luminaries have spirituality and devotion. Plus, there isn't much fighting Healing can do.

For all we know, Estarra and Crew could be planning a high magic tradeskill as we speak, though I have to agree there way too many tradeskills at the moment.

I can say for a fact the lack of enchanters is because powerstones where so insane expensive and nobody wanted to pay more for the enchantments, not to mention the undercutting stores did to enchanters (I needed to concurate with 20gp in a shop while a powerstone cost me 2000gp) and even if you had someone willing to give the 5gp a charge extra, it was hardly worth the time, I made more hunting those 5 minutes. Ofcourse this is not just stores, many enchanters undercut eachother, it's only really profitable if you get contracts with storekeepers and those that own cubes or if you like me just wanted to enchant statues for your organisation.
I know atleast 3 bookbinders that are about a lot that would love to get a job.
edit: oh and we don't need more tradeskills, I have to spend enough gold as it is
Yea, enchanters should charge a bit more as those powerstones are now much rare and expensive.
Thet brings us to point where we need more jwelers
PS. buying powerstones.
Narsrim2006-03-01 12:01:16
As I was recently a jeweler, I bought 100 gemstones just to test it out. At trans, I got 4 powerstones out of 100 gems.
I don't know if that was just major bad luck, but powerstones just aren't all that common.

I was getting SO tired of not having enough powerstones as an Enchanter that I've switched. I'm now a trans jeweller with hammer. The great thing about bound credits is that I didn't have to buy any credits to trans.. I just bound the credits for my hammer and hey presto! I'm cutting regularly and my powerstones are selling like hot cakes.
Acrune2006-03-01 13:57:48
Yup, I went tailor because of it. Stupid rip-off powerstones.

Ok, i have to convince you to sell me some powerstones!

*hoards all the powerstones* I'm still annoyed that I sold Aesyra like a 100 powerstones before the prices all went up

Just offer Aiakon lots of money.. lots though. You've got some serious guild and city enemy barriers to leap.

yes, there's a lot of tradeskills, but also almost everybody either has one or will get it eventually. I think we could handle another one for Highmagic, I have completely no ideas though.
Something related to Aetherships maybe?
Unknown2006-03-07 02:16:56
Guys, face it. The tradeskills arent all equal. So, therefore, two trade skills wont be equal to two... The point im getting at is, the fact that there are two tradeskills given by lowmagic and one from highmagic is erroneous (sp). It all matters on what the character does, what they need...
In summary, just deal with it =p.
And aetherships should not have a highmagic only trade, that would be very mean to all the commune people who have ships.

As a bookbinder (not yet trans though) I have made 3 things my entire career, 1 book for Karrah, one for me, and 2 scrolls for someone else...woooo.... no one wants Celestian bookbinders...bleh I have considered going to enchanting just to do my OWN enchants cause it is so hard to find someone sometimes...
I would like to see another highmagic tradeskill, but I love the RP of bookbinding so much it would be hard to change...but I am all for more choices!

Artisan is the aethership/manse trade. It's almost exclusive to owners of private dwellings.
Yrael2006-03-07 04:05:51
We should just introduce high explosives and point Selthar to a pile of them and sit back and wait, then we can go on playing after he destroys 90% of the game and we're all crammed into 300 odd rooms.
