As per essence, I don't believe the outer circle will coss essence loss, but Lisaera could explain that more fully.

My comment: Meh.
Until Celest lets me join Raezon's order (Which is likely to be never) then I'll care about divine. Until then there is really no IC reason for me to join an order, which does make me a little sad...
I suppose that's what Dagnev was trying to get earlier.

Aww now Saran might actually have to make a choice between Elcyrion and Lisaera.
*prepares to be rejected by both *

What's to stop people who are worried about essence loss just sitting in the outer circle, while the rest of the order functions like it always has? I assume the Gods will police that kind of metagaming, but that's the first thing that stood out to me.
This would be great news if there were actually any Divine I was interested in. Sylphas won't follow Elcyrion, hates Lisaera, and the only ones he would follow are off-limits.

Its probably something like a gateway to better and newer things for Orders in the future. It may not seem like a super-cool groundbreaking OMG Sooo Coool thing, but it might just lead to that later on. Like, more and different powers for various levels of Orderness, different shrine things for different levels, you know.
Would be nice.

I'm just waiting for this to be abused.
"Ok, we're going to raid. Everyone, if you're in the Order, lets shift out into the Outer Circle so that we don't cost any essence!"

That's the beauty of strategically selected totems and statues attuned to the Order of Raezon.

They found out about Karrah, but..I think there was a reason I just cant remember right now.
Nymerya2006-03-03 22:20:48
I don't see how anything has changed really. There are people in Order pre-clans to find out more about a certain Divine, even if they have little wish to join. If these clans get dissolved, some people will be disappointed, myself included.

Okay I have no problem with order members losing essence but why is how much essence you lose based off of your level? I can't really understand that. I am not very high ranked in my order, in fact I think I'm still at the lowest order rank there is yet I lose the most essence for dying because I'm a high level? Someone explain?
Nymerya2006-03-03 22:30:24
Because like creatures, the essence within your body is dependant on level.. (So I was told.)

Unless you know where they are, or know someone who knows the exact locations of them.

I like to think Order features don't get abused in Orders with active gods. Why? Because if a god abuses a feature or bug, he is punished much more severely than a mortal, and gods are usually more trustworthy than mortals, OOCly. So, I think gods and Orders can be given fairly abusable powers, because the gods themselves have the maturity to deal with that kind of thing. However, when gods go inactive Orders tend to get abused pretty fast.

Well good luck in Serenwilde because I regularly have someone bond the Mother Moonhart for a while and tune it against X enemy organizations. You can be sneaky, but you can't be a member of Serenwilde and never go the Mother Moonhart.
Sylphas2006-03-04 09:39:23
Depends. I'm playing an alt who has no real use for power at all, and can hermit back to Celest when he needs to. I could feasibly never set foot at the Pool and not really lose anything besides a bit of convenience. And thinking about it, he can't even teleport, so not even that really.
Iridiel2006-03-06 17:28:22
Basically, they have hardcoded what before used to cost a clan to have.
In exchange, you now cannot be interested in two different divines, unless they keep the clan for "interested but not so much people" while the Outer circle is instead "the outer middle circle" Wich might be a possibility on Divines who like their members to explore about other paths in life, and knowledge and stuff like that.
