Boring... yes that would be the polite word for it.
As for un-peaced influencing... well I won't comment on that just yet.

On the flip side, we now get esteem!

No, not boring! I can actually run around in it and INFLUENCE with only worrying about being debated, not cowering in sanctuary because if I step out I'll likely get killed and not be able to actually influence the village.
2-4 hrs is a decent length for a contested area.
Edit:
*cough*
While I love peaced influencing ... we really didn't need three villages coming up in, what, 48 hrs time?

Peaced influencing is boring. For me, it's just running around checking on mobs while running from people trying to debate me out. One mob becomes laidback and there will be fifty people there diverting/influecing/debating.

I don't mean to step on any toes, but all peaced influencing makes me do is swear alot and leave my computer. I can't stand it, it is so repetetive and the powershifts are so minor that it lasts for hours upon hours. No influencing period should last like 9 hours, or even 3 for that matter, although this is all my person opinion. I am not saying this because I like to kill people, but peaced influencing essentially is exactly the same thing over and over again - the only difference is who has more charisma and is quicker. The debate fix was nice and makes that more fast paced, but still I find the experience overall lacking. Influencing should be about player skill - not who has more people and patience. Naturally, seeing this I voted yes.
Torak sums it up pretty well, dull and boring
Go Torak!

Question: Is it the method of 'fighting' that's truly dull or the fact that alot of your time is spent just looking for open NPCs?
I bet if the time it took for NPCs to go laidback was halved or even cut 75% things would get VERY interesting.
5 villagers always open every minute. Can't just sit around then can you?

It seems that I recently miss all influences...meh.<.<
My own oppinion: I hate peaced influences. Why?
Simple: I don't like debating. No, no...I HATE it. Influencing itself isn't too bad, it feels like bashing. The only two things that REALLY freak me out are divert and debating. Usually, if I'd actually be there for a peaced one, I' just logg off, bash or hide myself...Since I can't do damn there. Good debaters with high charisma debate me out in less than a minute anyway, so why even try.

I like that idea. It would prevent some of the more annoying zerging tactics. Sure, you could have 10 people with one mob but you're going to be losing 4 in the meantime.
Also, when a village revolts, any flooding/tainting/foresting should be wiped along with the guards and the statues. In non-peaced villages it gives the incumbent something of an unfair advantage and in peaced villages it gives forestals a crazy advantage in terms of flowing about.

Aren't you a changeling!? Use that faeling power! Seriously, since I got a cameo no one has been able to debate me out (and I guess Titan helps too ) , charisma now plays a huge role in not only how much ego others can hit you for but your speed too.
I also have an issue with it being so easy for people to run in peaced villages...I hit them they run I have to wait for eq before I can chase after them and if they're smart they'll sprint half way across the village by then

I'm with Torak, and I used to really like influencing. It's too long. It's too repetitive. It's too much standing around, or worse, walking in circles looking for something to be laid back. Divert is the devil. Seriously, lately peaceful influencing has been excruciating.

:goodposting: (we need a smiley for that)
I still think it's not very interesting, but that'd make it less boring for sure. Cut 75% would be nice.
