We need some food we can store in our rifts. We can store herbs, spices, gems, bars of platinum, rope, coal, chunks of wood, etc, etc, etc.
Why can't we store food? How about maybe some processing skill that lets you store food in one's rift, but takes say a lot of herbs/potions/x/y/z to preserve and thus is far more costly?

Worrying about food decay is SO annoying.
Penelope2006-03-02 17:15:19
Get the foods preserved then you don't have to worry for a while. I carry preserved foods with me all the time and I've yet to have any of i t decay because I don't carry that much.
Arix2006-03-02 18:32:35
Preserve food= 1 colewort leaf= at least 7 months of preservation, more depending on level and spatula ownage
Acrune2006-03-02 18:35:38
Eh, I've never carried food with me, just ate as I needed it. Also, the idea of someone being able to buy 500 foods and rifting them for use during the rest of the time you're under level 80 just doesn't sounds right to me.
Shorlen2006-03-02 19:01:22
Lusternia has spices. What, you want more?
Acrune2006-03-02 19:17:23
Don't think spices have food value any more.
ferlas2006-03-02 19:33:31
Preserved food isnt to expensive, only annoying thing is you cant buy bulk like you can herbs but meh cant really buy bulk scrolls either not to much hassle.
Narsrim2006-03-02 19:37:13
I'm thinking of this more from a combat perspective. I'm over level 80, I don't eat... but I do fight geomancers and viscanti... just not very often
I basically have to carry food on me, 95% of the time which will rot, for the 5% of the time I need it. It basically because such a hassle and is definately not worth the investment that I don't bother.

I also vote that food not be consumed in the arena.

Is it just me being stupid or are scrolls also used while in the arena?
Vix2006-03-02 23:05:30
Enchantments aren't used up in the arena I think. Should be applied to scrolls. If not, probably an oversight.

I'm one! and I can preserve food up to like 25 days it's really not that bad
Note that the higher the food the longer it lasts and can be preserved for: ie dishes decay faster than cuisine for example
And yes preserving isn't expensive at all...I preserve all the food in my shop at no extra cost because colewort is pretty cheap

Last I checked scrolls were used up in the arena. This was back when they first came out though, so I can't really speak for now.

You could always get level 80 and never eat again.

And all the Serenwilde cooks with arti spatulas quit lusternia Brylle, Ibaesha, Mel...
Tsuki2006-03-03 02:30:54
I saw Mel briefly during when Paavik was up, before I left to sleep.
Ibaesha gave me money for her shop taxes for three years, and 141 was the last of those three years. Hence, hopefully, she'll be back soon.
