I am currently a Tae'Dae bonecrusher, but I'm thinking of going Aslaran blademaster.

So, are Aslaran blademasters any good? And please do not suggest other races, because it either stay Tae'Dae bonecrusher or go Aslaran blademaster. And if I do go Aslaran, does the sip and herb penalty really make a difference?

In Achaea rajamala's didn't really have too much trouble with it, and I think their sip penalty was 2x....

Yes. Very yes.

Tae'dae bonecrusher -shudder- Aslaran Bonecrusher best for crushing, but blade masters are ok..i guess....SWORDS SUCK!!.....that is all
Unknown2006-03-05 20:26:14
An aslaran bonecrusher would be best. Blademasters are good but bonecrushers are better imo and a speedy bonecrusher is just nasty. So I would say aslaran bonecrusher for sure.

Bonecrusher > Blademaster
Alaskar2006-03-05 21:27:39
well, I have one person saying Aslaran blademaster = Uberness

And, on the other hand, people saying Tae'Dae and Aslaran bonecrushers are awesome. SO I'll probably stay tae'day bonecrusher for a while, and if it get's boring I'll go Aslaran, and when Boncrushing itself gets boring I'll go blademaster.
ferlas2006-03-05 22:47:04
People are saying bonecrushers are good, tae'dae arnt really a great race what with being really slow.

How's a Pureblade Orlach? Are they any good?
Yrael2006-03-05 22:49:48
You can never go wrong with the city/commune "heritage" races. But Aslaran and rapiers are yummy.
Unknown2006-03-05 22:55:36
Stay Tae'dae. You'll be far less effective in combat, but at least you won't be a carbon-copy of almost every other powergaming warrior with no roleplaying ability.
Unknown2006-03-05 23:08:36
Although I would say bonecrusher is better then blademaster, it's not bad. I do just fine as a blademaster so just go with the weapon type you like more. And an Aslaran is good with anything physical aka uses balance a lot
Murphy2006-03-06 01:04:01
guys seriously, you all say bonecrusher is better than blademaster, and it might hold true for low tiers of fighting.

But at the extremes of wounding, speed and tankiness and afflictions and good healing, blademasters are more powerful as pinleg becomes easier and easier to get. At extremes of tankiness, where you can eat sparkleberry for the damage and apply health every round, blademaster is better IMO.

You have to be able to get mangleleg on both limbs to beat anyone who's good, especially another warrior. you also need to be able to have headwounds on there already when they both do break, or at least have the 10 power needed for crushes when you mangle both legs, and you need to be able to keep their legs wounded enough so you can get lucky with well timed mangled.
Alaskar2006-03-06 01:30:35
How bad is the sip penalty as Aslaran?

As a tae'dae I currently sip for 308, at level 13 with a maximum of 1054 health. What would I sip for as an Aslaran?

Another reason I want to change is because I don't think Tae'Dae really fits my character....I want something somewhat intelligent, lithe, and fairly decent...

I don't know about that. BCs HURT. However, a speed BM is more devastating than a speed BC... in my opinion, BCs are better off as hybrids.
Murphy2006-03-06 03:03:11
I tried BC hybrid, you don't really do enough wounding or damage to dispatch of anyone half decent, you really have to make it a long fight in which you don't get hindered at all.

That being said If i had the money for arties i would go a set of 158-150-155 base stat flails. With +15 arties lightning runes and +15% wounding runes they'd be 182-165-180 add on 15% wounding and add on the lightning damage and they'd be very very hurty.

However they wouldn't be able to stack up wounding on another warrior, or damage because most good warriors have 5.5k health, getting upwards of 8k for the tankier guys with surge.

Its really not feasible to go hybrid.

However, should things change a bit (I think surge should get nerfed, no question about it, its rediculous at higher levels at least it should be capped) I might consider it, except for the fact i don't have access to the 4500 credits it'd take to artie up 2 sets of weapons like that.

Anyway, thats my opinions coming from a damage BC, going to speed, then going damage again, then when wounding came out, sticking with damage, then going wounding, then going hybrid then going wounding then going hybrid then going wounding again (note a race change happened each time i decided to change my style)

Wow, no wonder you don't have the 4500 credits...that couldn't have been cheap.

I haven't ever played as a warrior long enough to have a viable opinion, but I seem to have more trouble fighting against bonecrushers than blademasters, but Murphy's right that about pinleg. High level BMs can hurt (that's blademasters, for anyone who's thinking of other things) when they get a lot of pinlegs. When they're able to hinder easily and damage, and be as tanky as they are, it's rough

This might hold true for warrior-vs-warrior, but BC >>>>> BM against guardians/wiccans. Point in case: name a BM that can kill Amaru or me 1-on-1. And don't say Lyco because we either drew or I beat him.

Actually, I like bashing as a Tae'dae....the only attack in the catacombs that does more than 300 damage is that kiss the garghasts use, and I sip that away easily while another one and a garghoul bash on me, so...it's fun. tongue.gif
I sip for between 1000 and 1600, not sure though...it's MUCH.

I did. It's fun. wub.gif It takes a little longer than normal (*cough*), but it's not too hard at a level were you get enough crits.
