I don't think walking is any trouble at all in the Basin. Most of my money is made on what I call the Glomdoring-Estelbar run, in which I circle the Basin starting at Estelbar, working my way around the Basin through Serenwilde, New Celest, and the to the Great Southern Highway collecting cows and pilgrims. When I reach the Blighted Lands I turn right back around and retrace my path (since the Mags don't like me for some reason.... ) and deliver my cows and pilgrims. It takes me 15-20 minutes to do, and I've gone from one edge to the other practically.

I once used the Imperian Walk To system, but found it boring and useless, since I use graph paper to map everything anyway. I don't think Lusternia really needs one either. As a novice, I made sure to walk everywhere I could (until I got kicked out of Glomdoring, no hard feelings ) just so I knew where everything was. It's a great way to get acquainted with the Basin.

I was a level 52 Grook Magi...I wasn't a novice, just too lazy to kill oysters, refine crystals, and use vibes to make portals.

Crystal home is your friend

Go to an aetherplex, PORTAL ENTER DEEPNIGHT, and you can access Avechna's peak, Celest, Glomdoring, and Magnagora. The filthy Serens don't want any part of my convienience.

Yeah, the aetherplex allow for great transportation; Deepnight has plenty of exits, and you can link to Seren shops if you need to reach the fluffy forest.

Just get 89 lessons into planar, this is the easyest and best way to get unlost, or to hop back to your home. It is avalible to everyone in every guild/nation.
