It may be nice, but I bet Igasho is even nicer.
Depends, Tae'dae are in PvE far superior due to their resistances and their sipbonus, but Igasho are really good at PvP.
to Avaer: Shush, Changelings are nice!

Personally Id go for the roleplay if I was that interested in race as just a tool to increase combat power id never have started as a furrikin warrior and I would have changed to a mugwump when I became a wiccan. Stick with faeling if thats your cup of tea but yea it definatly isnt the best offensive warrior race.
Aiakon2006-03-08 12:24:46
I vote for RP being more important than combat.
Firstly, because I think if everyone thought that, Lusternia would be a vastly more exciting and compelling game.
Secondly, because I can't fight, and I like the idea of RP being more important. It justifies my laziness.

Same. Furrikin were crap when I started out...we're solid now, though, glad I stuck with it (IGNORING the free reincarnation, hmph).
To be honest, though, I think you'd enjoy not sucking more than you're enjoying being a faeling for RP. (I'm not sure why you're a faeling for RP anyway...I'm pretty sure you haven't always been.) You'd have a lot less complaints on CT about the matter to make, I'm sure.
Terenas2006-03-08 17:01:29
Faeling Serenguard isn't that bad of a combo. I was an unspecialized Merian Serenguard a long time before they got upgraded with 10 base Strength, 11 Dex, 10 Con and level 2 Fire/Electric penalties and I did just fine. It takes a lot of skills to become a good combatant with a bad/race combo, but once you are good enough you'll be even more devastating as an Elfen/Aslaran/Human Serenguard.

Ya furrikin wiccans seem above average, not as good as other races but were still decent. It would have really hurt if I'd stay as a warrior though probally.
Hazar2006-03-09 03:45:54
You just have to pick between the PvP and the roleplay aspect. Which is more fun, playing a faeling, or playing an effective fighter? Faelings outside of the Glomdoring can't play warriors. If you want better advantages, go Elfen (or something bigger, like Tae'dae). The only reason to remain faeling is if you really like the roleplay (which I could understand).

You should reincarnate.

Aerenna has so much combat potential though. It is a shame for it is to be totally reduced to what it is.
Quoted for truth.
I think it would be wonderful if she could be in a race-guild combination that would truely benefit her to the best of her abilities.
I'd reincarnate, Malicia did a good job as an Elfen Lady for a long time. Though.. I'm not sure what other main Serenguard options are out there.
Diamante's human at this very second, but that's no indication of anything as he changes too often to count.
Then again, there are also Krokani, Taurien, Trill, Furrikin, Loboshigaru, Tae'dae and Igasho serenguard charactors.
I don't have as good a grap as others on warrior combat, so I can't really speculate as to what you'd be best as though. The specilized races are useally good starts, but there are also useally that 1 race per guild that all the really good fighters gravitate to as well. I just don't know what that is for the Serenguard

Well, let's not forget that BM != BC. For you, getting successive pins was a way to victory. For Aerenna, successive stuns may stack 400 damage, it may not. That's how bad it is.

Furrikin wiccan's actually don't fit into the 'terrible' catagory, and are fair to decent, even above average in certain areas(such as being able to afflict slightly faster with that eq bonus, if you go hexes), compaired to the specilized races of faeling/elfen.

Interesting poll.
It would seem to imply that many people feel that your guild is more inherent to your character than your race.
I find that somewhat strange, and regard it a failing (albeit minor) of the game system.

Furrikin are definitely nowhere near terrible, they're just not as good as faelings and mugwumps, which is what I think Ferlas meant. Better than elfen though.

You get a free tumble and an equi/bala bonus, as well as level 3 magic resistance! Nowhere near terrible? Furrikin are damn good.
Actually I love Tae'dae, really. But Mugwumps are just too damn nice....they need to be downgraded, I don't want to be compelled to play a weird race anymore!
On another note,I think nearly every race can be in every guild. Sure, it can be harder for some, but warriors generally have far more viable racechoices than wiccans/guardians or druids/mages. It really depends on how you play the game.
And to Aerenna: I told you to reincarnate into Tae'dae. Best race that be.

terenas had a lvl 1 eq bonus and a heap of int for surge and moonbursts, he was pretty good as a merian though.
If you're insistent about being faeling then get the fastest weapons you can should be 280 speed base, and 300 speed after drawdown and runes, evenom charybdon or stupidity/chasry and hit as fast as you can and as often as you can. if you can get conccusion stupidity and then aeon them you'll do ok with the slowlock, but you also then need to follow it up with quick moonbursting. Get knowledge blessing and perhaps a war blessing too.
Thats the only possible way to fight with it, but you won't beat anyone good like that. Also put darkmoon up in the room while you're beating on them.
Thats the best advice i have, but really don't do it, change to aslaran and do the above with slowlock and moonburst.
One other thing if you can pin a slowlock on a warrior, then lash their mnana to 0 first, to kill their surge then you should be able to kill them off easier
That being said, if you get a concussion in the first place, then manage to pin a slowlock on there you should just go knockdown while they are slowlocked and smite down for the easy bashbrain. I'd only bother moonbursting if i wanted to be a bit tricky, same thing with sacrifgice i'd never use it in a real duel for the win unless i felt i could get away with being a smart ass.

Murph, the speed cap for lvl 3 balance is 275, so if I were Aerenna, I would go for 255 speed, and nice wounding or damage... This would mean with moon and forge runes she would be maxed out without any wasted points.. hitting the two second cap exactly...

Furrikin seem terrible for warriors I ment, they are decent as wiccans but as you said I dont think there are as powerfull as mugwumps or specilised faelings for damage or tankynes, they seem equalish round about to unspesed faelings though. No idea about elfen though havnt really seen any before.

Was talking to Zenji, not you, don't worry. (There's a reason you haven't seen elfen btw.)
Murphy2006-03-09 10:02:46
personally i think furrikin should have like a base 10 or 11 strength, then they might be half decent for warriors. Good all rounders i would think

It would depend. Although (and thank god) tumble speeds are being capped, the ability to get out of a sticky situation in -1- second as a diminish furrikin has extreme combat value, even if your abilities are 20% slower than a Mugwump.
At the moment, I find using icewalls and then just tumbling past the suckers when I need an escape is quite hindering to people who would chase. I can only imagine if my tumble was almost 2.0 seconds faster.
