As it stands as a bookbinder I have been asked for 3 jobs, and I got the skillset on day 2 of its release... I love bookbinding for the RP value of the languages and whatnot, and making my own books (when I can afford it...) is nice, but it does need something a little more, but MagicTome is nice...
Maybe make it so people can not have two really great tradeskills to metagame the items, like alchemy AND herbs or whatever, but it looks like that won't really be a problem...
I like the idea though, but I am still kind of reserved also...

I'd take bookbinding and artisan and never, ever speak to anyone again. I'd be able to make books and furniture, put them in my manse, and then I could just talk to Nocturne. Nevermind that I make him talk back.
This made me think of Tom Hanks in Castaway. WILLLLSON!

Alchemy License (Cannot buy if one already has herbs or if not in a commune)
Herbs (Cannot buy along with Alchemy or poisons or if they do not meet the requirements you must have to take on herbs)
Someone isn't actually reading the topic...

Make it so only Bookbinders and Artisans can take them, and that Bookbinders can't take Enchantments, and that nobody can take Tailoring. Then I'll agree with this.
Daganev2006-03-07 23:52:20
Why not just improve bookbindin and artisan to have more uses for the person who has the craft?
Richter2006-03-07 23:55:51
Because I must be one step closer to god-hood.
-Can submit designs - check
-Can edit rooms - check
-Can mobpossess (Nocturne) - check
-Has every common skill - check
-Has every tradeskill -
-Can do room, area, and game emotes -

I'd get Jewelry or tailoring
Ialie2006-03-08 00:31:39
I was thinking either bookbinding or cooking.
Verithrax2006-03-08 00:32:02
It would mean more competition for everyone with a tradeskill.
And more competition means lower prices.
And tradesmen already make too little cash.

I'm against the idea, others provided reasons.

Oh, and I think 1 trade skill is enough for people, as it promotes TRADE, I'm against anything which will turn tradeskills into a wal-mart.
Richter2006-03-08 07:31:48
I'd love to become a Wal-Mart.

I'm pretty sure the admin have said no to the other twelve people who've made threads about this before...
Ekard2006-03-08 11:20:58
I would agree on this only if your wount be able to trans your secondary tade skill.
Unknown2006-03-08 11:39:32
That depends really, i mean, 15 lessons in artisan gives you boxes, thus kegs, which is the main money maker besides pipes. Some of the best selling skills in tradeskills are low down, like health and mana i believe in alchemy.

As if people don't have enough to spend credits on..
Saran2006-03-08 12:21:40
just wondering if you could have a nerfed version of the set?
either you couldn't learn past a certain rank, your products weren't as good (meaning primary tailors/jewelers/etc would still get more customers as their products last longer/look better/etc), or some form of combo platter.

Richter2006-03-08 17:30:46
I don't want some nerfed version of a tradeskill, I'd prefer all or nothing. However, like most ideas on the forums, excepting debating, this will dissappear after we run out of steam and forget about it, and nothing will ever come of it.
Unknown2006-03-08 18:42:32
I distinctly recall asking before for the ability to learn a second tradeskill up to Master and being told that we will never have any sort of multiple tradeskills. Lusternia is designed for interdependence and specialization, and allowing people to have multiple trades would eliminate a large portion of the economic interdependence that is present in this game.
