I don't want to be nasty but...
Celest needs good and strong fighters, specially due to the fact that their best fighters are actually from Serenwilde.
Somebody has to stop Nasrim and his army of gorgogs wink.gif

I like how you cut out parts of the log hehe.

I as a player am pretty sure that Thoros wasn't telling the truth. As a character, how would I know? We take the word of our citizens over that of a non-citizen. He said he was hunting and you came in and killed him. You say he wasn't. You stated I could get a divine to back you up. I got a divine, they didn't back you up.

In terms of "defense". You came into Shallach, saw they were dead, and then went after them. That's not defense. Defense is you come across someone killing them and you step in and defend. Or you see things are dead and see people in the territory and go after them in that territory. You didn't initiate aggressions while they were in Shallach. Hunting someone down for killing something you care about is revenge, not defense. The agreement said defense. You say hunting them down later is defense, I don't.

As a player I think it's cool that you were trying to do something new and change up your roleplay a bit. But my character is not going to just ignore the word of her citizens AND a divine just because you say so, no matter how much she would have liked to see Ixion in Celest.

Maybe there was some conspiracy afoot to make sure he got enemied again. Maybe people are lying left and right. That's interesting roleplay in my opinion. It's certainly the truth that most of Celest was less than pleased that he got unenemied in the first place and it's unlikely they would have wanted him in the city regardless of whether he wanted to join or not, so I wouldn't be remotely surprised if there was some plot against him.

I only cut out a little part about you contacting the divine. Everything else is there up to when I posted. No insinuating otherwise, Catarin.

I''m not sure what planet you come from, but here on earth defense includes preventing another from harming those under your protection. Telum's demesne + couple dead ur'knight corpses + them popping in and out of Shallach via the catacomb gate = high likelihood that they will continue to slay ur'knights in a few seconds. Goodness forbid I use logic.
Catarin2006-03-08 18:55:37
You cut out the whole last part of our conversation. If you posted before it was through, then I suppose that's not cutting out. Just rather odd. And those tells about the divine were funny since they were so bloody condenscending on your part wink.gif

No need to be insulting about it. I didn't realize being unenemied meant quite so much to you, I'm sorry if you're taking it personally or if it's bugging you as a player. That is obviously not my intent.

There was no talk of them jumping in an out of Shallach. There was only talk about them having killed ur'dead and you killing them for it in the Catacombs. You didn't relay any concern that they would be killing more in the near future etc. You were focusing on the evidence that they had in fact killed ur'dead when I was looking for evidence that your subsequent actions actually in some way were defending the ur'dead.

You were re-enemied. I'm sorry if you really didn't want to be. I'm sorry if you disagree with my view on what is defense and what isn't. If the point of this thread is some vindication that your character's stance was the right one, I hope you get it.

....meh this is the problem with forums....Thoros was all bragging about his goat army...but there is no way that knowledge would help Icly.

Don't give up on Celest, Ixy!! sad.gif

Come to Celest, we have booze
Anisu2006-03-08 19:55:00
I want Ixion in Celest, he can then go on my 'someone else's problem' list. Just kidding I want Ixion in Celest cause he made me smirk when he was talking to one of our novices at the pool of stars.

Anisu ICly doesn't trust Thoros at all, but then she can't accually say anything about it because he is a security in the guild and Anisu is just a regular guildmember. (and there is the whole he being Amaru's son thing)

Oh and as for the god not saying anything about the goats, It's likely that whoever Catarin contacted doesn't see overlinking an astral node as an aggresive move, since divine have a different sense of danger then mortals.

Pet RP peeve: Real people are not one-dimensional. Characters, by extension, should not be one-dimensional.

"I don't think Thoros was telling the truth, but we have to believe our citizens."

huh.gif

No, you are still free to question idiots. If you have a child that you know is a compulsive liar and a bit of a bully, and he comes walking in with a crying little girl, are you going to scold the girl for trying to get him in trouble when he says he didn't do it? That's stupid.

"I can't question Thoros because he outranks me and he's Amaru's son!"

doh.gif

Does he outrank you because he's done good for the guild, or because he's a brute who found favor with Amaru? If the boss appoints his son as supervisor of an important department and he does a hack job, are you supposed to keep quiet? No, you have an obligation to bring it up with the boss. If the boss protects him for the sole reason that they're related, you raise the nepotism flags and get stuff done yourself.

Except when that actually IS the RP in question. Which is Catarin's, and mine matches pretty closely. Why should she take the word of some tainted scumbag over the word of an upstanding crusading citizen?

Because Ixion is an upstanding individual, albeit tainted, and Thoros is a scumbag, albeit a crusading one?
Unknown2006-03-08 20:23:55
Celest, well the Celestines, like to hand out city-enemies pretty much whenever someone kills them. I come across Malicia on Earth Plane by chance after hearing her and Thoros attack my guildmaster. So I attack her but she gets away. I come across Thoros on Astral and attack him but he gets away.

Shortly after, Amaru enemies me to the city
Smell fishy to anyone?
Acrune2006-03-08 20:24:47
What does any of this have to do with Celest being in a state of disrepair? So you were enemied in a way you feel is unfair. Oh well. Irksome choice of thread title.

I discovered long ago that there is no point in intercommunity politics in Lusternia.

Because tainted are automatically scumbags, and anyone who destroys them is automatically an upstanding citizen? smile.gif

We've actually gotten a lot better in the combat area. We still don't have the insanely overpowered knights that I'd like to see, but we've gotten a decent amount of people who can hold their own.

Maybe Cityleaders are the single most important people in their respective cities, and carry the entire representation of such on their shoulders.

Maybe.

Usually CL's have the unique ability to 'make or break' their organization.

Usually.
