It would be nice to have more involvement when you run the guilds, you're right. Delegating guild members and resources in your endeavours would be fun. Some of the quests in the expansions rocked though!
Oh my gods, I wish they had that too. I was made Guildmaster of the Fighter's guild and I'd have loved nothing more then to tell them to like...storm Seyda Neen and take it over. Actually, the biggest flaw that I found was if you were caught accidently picking up something that doesn't belong to you in front of a fellow member...you got kicked out and there was this whole bug when you talk to get forgiven. It goes all '%PCRANK, you must blah blah'...very odd.
Was kinda funny but other then the funny aspect of everyone suddenly loving you and calling you Master, there's no need to go for the top...though if you do it before the main quest, you get a hell of alot of levels. Oh, and special insight of the happenings of the land. I loved that part of it too.

I don't see why some people don't think that Morrowind was a good game. I mean, it had a story, things to do, etc, same as any other RPG. The only different thing was that it was deep, it was HUGE, and there were so many things to do, you could forget what the main quest was. But at that point, it's your own fault!

I think Morrowind was and is a great game, but that it could have benefitted from more choice in the main storyline, and more quests being tied in to each other. It could've been a great MMO, like Lisaera said, but single-player... it kinda fell flat.
But hey, there's fifty billion or so mods out for it.
Including one which adds a Predator race.

I want to know why the Oblivion forums isn't letting me register and isn't sending me my validation email and keeps on not working *Grumble*

Eh, everyone has different tastes in RPGs. There are some incredibly pouplar/classic/famous RPGs out there that I really don't care much for.

Yes, but NONE of it mattered. So, you become the archmage of the mage's guild. What does that get you? New things you can do? New plot? Nope. Nothing. At all. The game was so dissappointing to me All of those side quests were pointless and repetitive. They didn't do anything, they were just there to give you more errands to run on. KOTOR, Torment, Fallout 2 - those games had multiple interesting ways to solve each problem, and that was what I was expecting from Morrowind, and that was what I didn't get from Morrowind.
I really hope they make a better game with Oblivion :\\ I'll have to watch a friend play it before deciding if it's worth paying for
Dude.. you realize that it DID matter?
If you become archmage you -are- the archmage, people thingk about you differently, other quests will be easier/harder because of that.
Don't want to kill people to take an item from them? FINE steal it instead!
OR use your charm and wit to make them so happy with you they'll give it to you.
There are -so- many ways to do EVERY quest it's not even funny. I've played the game from so many different directions and I havn't even been able to complete all quests from all the ways you can do them.

That pretty much sums it up, for all the nay-sayers on this post.
I thoroughly enjoy anything where I'm not restrained.
Linier game-play bores me like nothing else.
I ask myself "Why must I walk to town B and then town C and then town D after running away from town A?"
Don’t want to do the main quest but want to get in past ghost gate?
Find, go steal a televani levitate potion and fly over the Ghostfence.
Emilynn2006-03-16 05:56:56
Or you could always just train Alterations and cast Levitate or get the Travel-Stained Pants or get good enough in Alchemy to make your own Leviation potions...or it you really want to be odd, get those scrolls that fortify your jumping by 2000 for a few seconds and hop over, at your own peril, of course.
Morrowind....
Morrowind....
Richter2006-03-16 07:24:55
Yeah, there were those crazy scrolls that if you jumped straight up, you'd die from the fall. But if you jumped forward, you'd still go... and maybe still die. If you hit water, you'd usually be good.

Yay for Oblivion! I loved Morrowind, even though I never finished it. (My attention span isn't that long).

I didn't like Morrowind graphics, specially the hair of the characters. I admit it's a silly reason not to like a game, but if I am to spend endless hours on a single player game I must like the graphics. Wish it was multiplayer
Yrael2006-03-16 13:16:28
I rather liked the various pretty-it-up packs for people that came out, redesigning completely every character model, and very well, too. Faces, hair, joints, all of it was fixed up.
Also, try darker morrowind. It's a huge texture pack that completely changes the look of the game.

EDIT: Nevermind, I've done enough offtopic grumping on this thread, ignore me. I'll keep my opinions to myself when they aren't positive ones

If you cast another on your way down, I think you lived.

Or you could activate a levitation spell and come to a halt before you hit the ground. That's what I always did.

I should play Morrowind again over spring break. I never really got far, because my old xbox crashed so much it took all the fun out of the already kind of glitchy game.

Picture a mage waving his arms furiously while falling from the sky and screaming in an attempt to cast a spell before hitting the ground. Thats me in Morrowind.

I love love loved Morrowind. I agree that the main storyline was lacking in choices. I wanted to join the darkside and join with Dagoth'Ur! I mean...those dreamers kept TELLING you that you should...so why shouldn't I have been able to? Eesh

I bought an Xbox 360 just for this game. None of you will see me for weeks on end, I'm sure.
