It is actually pretty awesome when you think about it, i mean, you for 10K could probably put a stool or something up on astral, it wouldn't decay and you can get there for 5p, else you could probably put it on a keg, or a special piece of furniture just for you, so it wont decay. Though you can only have one prized -ever- so it's really a one thing only.

Damn.. it forging runes weren't so usefull, I would think about switching...
Forget having a stool on astral, have your item in your manse or on prime, and you could explore astral as much as you want without ever fearing getting stuck up there.
Thats just aweseome for anyone who likes to explore or go to places that are hard to get back from / dangerous.

My problem with the skillset is that everything costs so much to make, and then it decays on you. I would have furniture in EVERY room of my 100 room manse, if it wouldn't cost me 5000cr to make sure they don't decay. Right now, I only have three or four of the non decay gems, and those are the rooms that I'm going to have furniture in. I think it's a shame that it decays, because I would buy -much- more of it otherwise.

I don't think it shouldn't decay at all, but making it last for like 500-700 months (makes close to 2 IRL years) should be long enough not to worry about it. How long is it now?

The armchair I crafted 12 or so months ago (while I was still at Mythical) has 184 months left.
I also still want to be able to make locks for doors.
