I think leech has a higher percentage drain, orcaes ammiso does about 630 640 drain to me but his leech does over 800. About 3700 max mana
Unknown2006-03-30 15:26:35
Nah, leech is 300+10% too...

Incorrect. Amissio is 10%+250 mana, lash is 10%+300 mana, and leech...dunno but it probably sucks too.

No.

Nah That dosnt sound right

250+10% for ammiso sounds spot on hit me for about 640

300+10% for leech sounds way to low for what it did to me
If that was true it would be hitting for just under 700 which it dosnt, it hits definatly in the range of over 800

EDIT: Hmm unless one is effected by int and the other isnt?

I remember leech was taking exactly 50 mana more than amissio on me. I guess it could've been a concidence that it was such a round number.

What's your maxmana Ferlas?
Unknown2006-03-30 21:40:02
Was that an old log Terenas? Cause when me and Nars tested it not too long ago it was 10% plus 250 mana.

Ok live log from 4:30 eastern time.

Pretty sure they're the same eq.

Remember that leech is pretty well into a secondary skillset, and amissio's a novice skill, though.

3888 with the nightkiss, which I had on at the time. I know jack but everyone had said before that ammiso is better than lash and I am Willing to bet that ammiso and lash have a different % which makes it so your better off doing either lash or ammiso depending upon the max mana of your target.

Ok, after reading through like 300 announce posts, I have unearthed usual information:

It turns out that back in the day, amissio/leech did the exact same thing. To counter this, amissio was made stronger, but didn't drain any mana back. Thus the advantage to leech was the mana gain.

However with quicken, amissio was so powerful that the average celestine could kill just about anyone with absolve in under 6-7 seconds. Thus, amissio was downgraded "slightly."

In the end, leech > amissio (slightly) because of that downgrade and still drains mana.

Those quotes were from the beginning of this thread.

Your numbers are very strange, I can't really put my finger on it but somehow you're being drained for less on an Amissio than others. Everyone else is getting 350 + 10% maxmana but you're getting drained for less than that on Amissio but not for Leech. blink.gif

Sorry for the necro but I recently found out that the nature torc ability not only effects drain from casting spells but it also effects mana drain from things such as ammiso etc effectivly giving nature users a 10% resistance to all mana drains.

That explains why the numbers I posted earlier are all weird and dont comply to the formuals everyone had tested before.
Shiri2006-05-15 04:45:12
So THAT'S what the hell the "magic resistance" part of it was supposed to mean.
ferlas2006-05-15 08:24:37
I think it just works on anything that drains your mana is effectected by it, like the torc coding dosnt care if its an ability your using that costs magic or if its an ability that someone else is using on you to take your mana it all ends up the same.
Ekard2006-05-15 12:01:12
Hmm, im wondering if Magi Crown give 25% resistance on mana drain as well.

Could any enchanter test it???
ferlas2006-05-15 12:24:25
Syntax: NATURE TORC
Nature will grant you a sacred torc to wear, which will offer some protection against magical attacks. Significantly, it also stores mana which will automatically be used when you cast spells.

I actually think us getting 10% resistance to mana drains is an accident. It seems the way they work is that the drain is calcuated exactly like using a normal ability such as focus mind or nature curse, so when we get drains for lets say 700 mana it treats it as us using 700 mana then adds in the stored mana from the torc making it so we only take 630 drain instead of the full wack.

Shiri2006-05-15 12:53:39
Did you bug it? Worth trying to make sure.
