As a brief interjection... if the pigwidgeon notices you "trying to move" while sprawled, why doesn't it knock you off balance when you swing a sword? After all, you're still "trying to move". It's not like it's really obvious what you're attempting to do when you're sprawled on the ground, you might be moving to stand, you might be trying to hop on your stomach, you might be working up the courage to moo at Narsrim.
That, and if you really can stack up balance loss moving with a pigwidgeon following you, there's definitely something wrong with that. I'm not sure I'd call it a bug, but it does need to be looked at regardless of whether it is a bug or a mechanics issue.

Again, this is a lovely case of "let's argue words." There is no combat imbalance here whatsoever. The word "trip" just doesn't come off well to some people... but if we want to apply this stupid (and i'm sorry, but I consider this stupid) rationale, we could spend all day finding minor, insubstantial inconsistencies.
+ As I said earlier, you aren't "moving" when you are "look" yet with aeon, you "move" sluggishly through time.
+ If stunned while tumbling, how do you continue to "tumble" out of a room?
+ How does sticky sap coating your skin slow down your ability to fire psionics?
+ If stunned while writhing, how do you continue to writhe?
I could seriously make a list with 50-100 little inconsistencies, but the point is that none of them are issues of combat balance so it basically boils down to a cosmetic message bitch fest.
As for pigwidgeon stacking off balance, that's fine. If you get tripped by it while prone, DONT MOVE AGAIN until you are standing and on-balance. All sorts of restrictive movement abilities follow this including Carcer, Ringwalk, Rubble, etc.

Um...no offense, but it truth Narsrim the only one who's making this into a arguement, etc, is you. Chron just asked if anyone else thought that perhaps that was a bug...Everyone else is just putting their opinions in as well. Instead of say "Let's Argue Words" Blah Blah Blah, just say "Hey, you're wrong because so so and so." Just pointing it out instead of putting rude and possibly angry (just kind of getting that feeling from your writing..I could be wrong) words gets your point across.

I am a bit moody because I spoke with Chron in person before he even posted. I'm really going to drop the issue from here. After a vast argument, this thread was created. But as suggested, I'll try to be more polite.

Who else have trouble dealing with Pigwidgeons? Seriously, anyone who has a fair bit of combat experience should know that spamming commands will get you nowhere. It's a game mechanic to hinder someone trying to leave the room. Like eating herbs, if you spam eat herb, you will never get your herb balance back.

It isnt a big deal, but it shouldnt work like that.
Ildaudid2006-03-21 02:31:44
Can't you just solve the problem like Narsrim said and lose the pigwidgeon and then sprint out especially if they cant see you lost the damn thing to begin with? And that should be it.... bam... bye leave and wait for him catch you again...

Now how exactly does the pig know I'm trying to move when I'm unable to? I think not.
You, sir, are missing the fundamental point!
You expect the fae to be bound by normal constraints in the mechanics of the universe, despite being spirits bound in physical bodies, that supercede all attempts at prediction. They are not, in fact they are metaphysical beings of superior intellect, that will do as they wish, when they wish!
In other words, it's 5:20am, I haven't slept, and they do it by magic.
And no, I'm not going to argue the point with you because I'm right and you're not, and it's bloody annoying whenever I get into an argument with you because you never listen.
So neh.
Hmph.
