Simply Amazing

Wow, the DRAMA!

OOCly, my condolences, Richter. It stinks that it happened in that way. Perhaps it will be best to take a little bit off to recover/blow off steam.

I can't find any blame for anyone for this. It just seems like the overall result to an ikky situation: a bad ending to a strong climax.

Looking at the IC through an OOC reader's eyes: Glomdoring IS blah.. just BLAH. They're becomming so isolationalist and desperate that they're shooting themselves in the foot. Considering they have Serenwilde breathing down their necks, I can't see any real hope for the group.

I despise outguilding characters who aren't even on. Conflict is such a great source of RP. Why would you cheat yourself out of the chance to roleplay an outguilding? Frankly its a cheap abuse of power. Nothing is worse than logging in to find your world turned upside down. Glomdoring should have talked with Richter first. He has given enough to that place that he deserved a face to face confrontation.
Iridiel2006-03-21 16:15:34
At least, having a jury and an event of Richter condemnation and ostracizing and stuff would have been more fun than just a few messages.

It's like being told via a telegram taht you're fired. No fun.
ferlas2006-03-21 16:41:10
Yea It should have at least been done to his face so he could explain or say sorry for it.
Asarnil2006-03-21 16:44:48
If this were anything approaching RL Glom would have me killing any of em that left the commune. Its on the same level as dumping one of my friends via sms, and the last person who tried that got beaten up with a crowbar.

Since we're posting messages.

Message #824 Sent by: Richter
03/18 10:41 "Judging from the pleasantly concise tone in your message, I assume I'm in trouble again, which is quite amazing, as I'm -still- not active, and have only been here in the last seven months or so to check message, read news, debate philosophy with Roark, and make sure the new kids aren't overrunning my manse. Four months from now, I expect to be almost completely gone, as I've got other exciting matters to attend to. If there's something you need, I'm sure you can message me about it, and I'll message you back, because I'm mostly certain I won't be around enough to get to speak to you face to face."

There comes a point where you *can't* wait for someone. I was content to do so, even with this message... but his post (chiefly, the way it was received) made removing him more urgent.

No, I didn't like doing this. No, it did not occur just because of the post... as you can see, I was already trying to have a discussion with him. Richter has done a lot for the Glomdoring in the past, the Ebonguard in particular. He deserved more than he got from us on an OOC level, and I do not believe any of us are arguing against that. ICly... it's more complicated.

I hope you enjoy Oblivion. Relax, have some fun, and come back with some fresh ideas about Richter's path.

And thank you. I know it's grossly inadequate after what you've just received, but you deserve it nonetheless.

Am I the rest of the basin? no

Am I the reason you didn't get connected to the Serenwilde? again, no.

I was just giving you my charactors view on it.

That wasn't in reference to you, that was me expressing my exasperation and amazement that I'm going to be suddenly okay with a large portion of the basin, just because of my lack of commune and change in skills. Calm yourself. smile.gif

And yeah, I'll be playing Oblivion for a bit.

I figured posting nicely and expressing my dissappointment was better than running around waving my hands madly and flinging insults, it seems to have worked somewhat. I really dislike the whole situation, for obvious reasons, but also because this is going to cost me ooc to recover a skillset. I've done a lot for Glomdoring, and while I understand why Visaeris, Gudio, and anyone else similar might have been kicked out a long time ago, I didn't go acting like a madman, or try to take over the commune, or anything like that. I was simply content to live out my guild retirement in peace, and terrorize novices with my GR19 supapower. I guess when I become more active (which probably means beating Oblivion, though I will still log on every day to deal with my manse/company's issues) I will figure this out. The choice seems to have been forced upon me, and I'll weigh my options then.
Daganev2006-03-21 18:41:50
One of the issues I was trying to deal with in my later days of being GM was the novices that Richter would recruit to himself, and then they would be like "Richter doesn't have to do that, so why do I?"

Personally, I wouldn't enemy him. *shrug* But I also don't know how many people would be affected by the symbol of him being enemied while the current shadowcourt probabbly does.

Nyla2006-03-21 18:51:59
The Shadowcourt was sippin that overreacting Kool-Aid.... again..
Unknown2006-03-21 22:35:21
overeacting kool-aid. Yummy.

Ritcher my sympathies for the rough time. Its nice that you still have you rAethership and all though...

I'm sure you can use this to your advantage somehow...
Arix2006-03-21 22:49:52
I apologise wholeheartedly for your losing ranks because of me. I would have left Deepnight if you had asked me to, however, I ignored Xenthos because he had no authority over me in that situation
Xenthos2006-03-21 22:51:41
Um- you sure that was me, and not Xavius or some such? I don't remember ordering you out of Deepnight. I also logged on after this incident.

(Found out about it in the logs. Hooray for logs.)
Arix2006-03-21 22:56:00
oops, you're right, It was Xavius. Sorry Xenthos.

Its not even just that... they could have just said no... kicking him out was just a bit silly imo. Although as stated, this seems like a case of politics because he pissed Shayle off.

Shayle, the new Bricriu! All hail the censor.gif-queen!

I don't recruit novices, I stay away from them. I tell them I'd be a terrible mentor, because it's true. The only one I "recruited" was Shishi, and he's my RL cousin.

Meh, wasn't your fault. It was that damn kool-aid.

I seem to remember you having a part in it, but it was indeed Xavius that came into Deepnight to kill me. I promptly led him into my office, behind a reinforced steel door, and ran off. You don't screw with Richter in his manse, as long as he has balance. smile.gif You'll either never be able to find me (I can insta-travel to any room) or I'll lose you (I can do half insta-travel, leave an exit for you to follow through, close the exit and run off with you locked in a monolithed room). smile.gif

I think it was the overreacting kool-aid. I now blame everything on that.

Right. I logged on, found things that were messed up, and came into your manse to talk with you about it. I'm fairly sure that I found the disfavours in the log before I actually found out that it was still going on. I tend to read the log the moment I get online.

Everything's kind of been said already...but yeah, this wasn't a total 180 from the Court's point of view, more like (as someone said) the last straw. NONE of this was OOC. All IC. I don't even know Richter OOC.

And I think I'm going to take the Bricriu comment as a compliment. smile.gif
Yrael2006-03-21 23:52:50
It's quite the opposite unless you happened to be in Limbo, which I seriously doubt you were.
Laysus2006-03-22 13:30:05
Psh, Bric was cool tongue.gif
Unknown2006-03-22 18:33:09
Seriously, Richter, why are you upset? How long does it take one to realize that Glomdoring is populated by corrupt, inane, mindless idiots who have absolutely no idea what they are doing at any given time, and are guided by nothing more than an extreme boner for nationalism and a Goddess who has done more to hurt Her own organization than any number of foreign threats combined? I'm surprised something like this didn't happen to you sooner; you're not quite as stupid as the rest of them are required to be, and if you try to rise above them they will cut you down. Status quo, my friend, status quo.
