I did kind of expect you to make an appearance here, but you're a bit later than I thought you'd be. Ah well.

How do you find the life of a mute Paladin, anyways? happy.gif

I'm finally enemied to the Paladins. I'd been slaughtering kelpies and dolphins for decades, and killed more than one paladin in my little seaborne adventures, but they didn't get around to fighting back until I played a prank with their titles. Silly, silly Paladins. And Terentia's personal appearances at the Megalith are always interesting.

Seriously, Richter, why are you upset? How long does it take one to realize that Glomdoring is populated by corrupt, inane, mindless idiots who have absolutely no idea what they are doing at any given time, and are guided by nothing more than an extreme boner for nationalism and a Goddess who has done more to hurt Her own organization than any number of foreign threats combined?

I couldn't have said that better myself. But, since I am not my character, I let him continue on, staying out of the spotlight, and not telling everyone what he thought of the commune. It was some interesting conflict-driven RP.
Verithrax2006-03-22 19:16:20
That's pretty bad. At least it lets you link to Seren, now, so woot. On the other side, I wouldn't call this RP. RP usually involves people talking, not just kicking out while you're outside the realms. At any rate, this is one reason I never switched to Glom - They're just too fanatical and generally crazy.
Xenthos2006-03-22 19:19:48
It's not like we never talked at all before this... there was a fair bit of RP involved, at least on Xen's side. *shrugs*

And being fanatical / generally crazy *is* RP! Just look at Serenwilde. wink.gif

Hmph!
Verithrax2006-03-22 19:52:11
It's roleplay, just not interesting roleplay. Besides, considering my issue with Serenwilde is that they're crazy, quitting to join Glom wouldn't gain me anything.
Unknown2006-03-22 20:14:11
If you want Richter, I could approach Viravain and ask for a formal trial, with me as your lawyer.
Verithrax2006-03-22 20:18:13
I don't think formal law has been developed in Lust. Glom is more likely to decide the verdict based on pigeon's guts or something.
Xenthos2006-03-22 20:21:41
Well, that, and I had already spoken to the seated members of the Court prior to sending Richter the "we need to talk" message. I'm pretty sure a trial would accomplish approximately nothing, were it to even be considered (and Glomdoring is probably one of the least likely organizations to accept a trial).
Unknown2006-03-22 20:36:49
Roleplaying a bunch of crazed fanatics and things like that certainly have their interesting sides. Personally I just think before you mess with someone's character like in Richter's case, you might want to talk it over OOCly first to see if it's fine for both sides.

Perhaps I'm looking at this differently but judging by the posts, they seem to feel Richter was leading people to steal power from an organization so he could use it to raise/use for his own personal nexus. They seemed to have waited a great deal of time and displayed a great deal of patience for dealing with what they felt was an obviously urgent concern.

Does *any* organization wait to speak to someone they feel is directly working against them, and in doing so, directly taking FROM that organization to fuel their own before enemying that person, or neutralizing the threat?

In any case, it is too bad things happened as they did. Perhaps Richter, when done with oblivion, should attempt to resolve the matter when neither side will not have to rely on messages alone merely to be able to have some contact.
Unknown2006-03-22 21:05:59
It certainly seems to have been their reasoning. Knowing the post Richter made, I can only say that I never had the impression that he tried to lead anyone into stealing anything. He explicitly said only to draw power if they were allowed to and reimburse for what they took.

Of course, there's no IC problem at all with them acting on twisted / incomplete information, or simply twisting things themselves. It'd fit Glomdoring's roleplay I should think. Think what you want, make up your own facts, and ignore evidence to the contrary.

I wouldn't go to Glomdoring, I'd go to Viravain, who technically outranks anybody in Glomdoring and would actually be the final court of appeal. And even if she didn't like Tully or even Richter, what Goddess wouldn't want to hold court as judge and master of a mortal's fate. ;-)

Yeah, I don't know law, but I'd get some co-counsel. Tully's be more like "My Cousin Vinny".

Damnit, we have a Hall of Justice--and as far as I know only Magnagora has their laws written on any pillar--so I would love to see somebody brought to trial for something.

You mean when she appears for the sole purpose of incinerating me? Those ones usually go toward my rants of ":censor:censor.gifcensor.gifcensor.gifcensor.gifcensor.gifcensor.gif" and banging on the desk, because it's damn expensive. Plus, you know, she never seems to feel that a disfavor, or teleporting me to the pool of stars for tits-and-giggles isn't enough, so she incinerates me, too.

I'm done.

I have a feeling they still won't like me, though I hope that changes. Serenwilde is one of my favorite areas, and I haven't been allowed to wander around it for about a real year.

Not really, I've got some ideas for my own laws, with trials and such, but I can't implement that right now, I'm too busy killing Daedra. happy.gif

Well, except for the fact they overreacted, they reacted in character. Which is bat censor.gif crazy. glare.gif I may attempt to repair some of the damage when I come back, yes. I can't stand being enemied to organizations as this character, it makes every other part of my RP harder.
Stangmar2006-03-24 02:53:40
I'll bet some agreement could be reached. Seeing as this is over aetherships and nexii, perhaps you should make a formal retraction OR clarification of the post IG, and then work out an agreement with the Shadow Court to perhaps use your aethership to gather power for the Ravenwood for the next IG decade or something.
Richter2006-03-24 18:46:10
Already tried that, before I was in trouble. The idea of me using my aethership to gather power was laughed right off the drawing boards. Screw them.
Aiakon2006-03-24 19:22:39
It works. It's pretty slow, but it works.
