Yes, Guadiguch had a dominate race, theyre like the other Orgs when it comes to that. Hallifax and Ackleberry have two races that dominate the City and Commune. Trill and Lucidian hail from Hallifax while Tae'dae and Furrikin hail from Ackleberry.
Magnagora also has two races key to her history, Viscanti and Orclash. Only one is the city race though.
Daganev2006-03-31 06:33:11
umm, some orclach would prefer to be in Celest because the taint makes orclachs into orcs and they would be against that.
Xenthos2006-03-31 15:47:57
Some Viscanti reject the taint, too.
They get told to cleanse themselves of their sins in the Pool of Stars and become a Merian, though.

Which I still find retarded. Viscanti aren't freaking contagious or anything. You could even argue that it was the virulent taint of Kethuru that first changed them, and since his loss of influence over the taint, the generations of viscanti aren't actually tainted inherently, but only through living in it and working with it. It's like saying, "Hey, I'm sorry one of your ancestors was Chinese, but we can't let you live here, because China is evil."

Are you sure of that? The Fae don't seem to like Viscanti or so a pixie said at the Mother Moonhart once. As for them still being tainted, that's really not up to you to decide. Lisaera has said they are in fact still tainted and the Moondancers have always maintained that point given our relationship with the Fae and the insight it provides us
Furthermore, there is nothing wrong with being a racist IC. In fact, the roleplay supports such behaviors. You really can't compare the Chinese to the Viscanti. In fact, doing so is rather "retarded."
Sylphas2006-03-31 22:32:25
Oh, see, I don't follow what random fae say every so often, and I usually just ignore Lisaera. Part of why I'm not in politics anymore.

Why? I absolutely adore when Lisaera speaks up. I love her and her "tough" love with Serenwilde. I feel at times she is far harder on us as a Commune than most gods are to their cities, which is a reason we do well. She's like a silvery goddess version of a football coach: shut up, get in there, kick some ass, and win!

Oh yeah, hm..forgot about that to be honest as you see very few Orclach about, not that you see too many Viscanti either. But it was brought up that the Taint weakened Orclach turning them into Orcs and no one would really pick up a weakened race I suppose. We dont know if thered have been any changes to Hallifax nor Ackleberry as far as the Taint is concerned. Time shall tell.
Anyways, this is weird. Celest Zealous?

er, Orclach are not weakened... what I was saying is that Orclachs are not a magnagoran race except for before viscanti existed.. after viscanti existed, orclachs (as can be seen in the catacombs), hate magnagora because of what the taint does to them. Some however like to ignore that fact, and prefer instead the ancient ur'guard order and death cult.

Back on topic, if this thread still has one, I've been trying to pay attention to village feelings and to see how they work out. Yes, it'll take awhile. Yes, it's confusing in the meantime. No, I don't think we should be spoon-fed what things mean when we can take some time to try and figure them out for ourselves.
Diamondais2006-04-01 01:27:27
Ill agree we shouldnt be spoon fed most things, but some of these feelings just dont make sense in my mind, and in others minds too.
Tsuki2006-04-01 01:29:06
True. Some of the feelings seem a bit ... quirky. But hopefully with a broader sense of the bigger picture they'll make more sense.
Shiri2006-04-01 01:54:22
I think we should be told this, actually. It's all very well letting us explore some things but working out wtf is going on here is pretty critical and it's definitely not very intuitive.
Shryke2006-04-01 02:01:29
Agreed Shiri, not that Glomdoring has any villages
Daganev2006-04-01 19:37:53
apparently you missed the post where Estarra said its still a bit broken. ITs not nice to remind her though.
Diamondais2006-04-01 19:41:35
Actually yes, I must have missed that. I thought that it was supposed to be like that, like..you can be attached to a City State and still hate them.. just wow. Now I feel bad.
Shiri2006-04-02 00:27:23
Yes, I did miss that post.
