you know, since the sip penalty doesn't apply to mana, you could very well just sip mana and transmute without surge as an aslaran, rafael used to do it and he reckoned it was pretty cool

Does transmute require equi or does it have a big endurace/willpower drain or something?

I don't think that's true. I think that was an Achaea feature because in Aetolia, vampires had a sip penalty and it effected mana and health. Also, I seem to sip for more mana with my philosopher stone.
Someone should post a log who has a cameo and test between Dracnari/Trill (both have 14 int).
Shiri2006-03-31 13:16:58
I'm pretty sure sip penalties affect mana because that's the only reason I was able to come close to beating Eiru those couple times I did after he'd got practice against Moondancers. And faelings are a huge pain in the arse to beat.
Terenas2006-03-31 19:16:44
Yeah, what others have said. The racial sip penalties apply to both health and mana, but the artifact sip ring (don't remember if we have them here yet) only apply to health vials.
Unknown2006-03-31 19:28:48
I think we've got about 50 Viscanti that can attest to sipping penalties effecting mana.
We've got no arti-sip ring Terenas, also they've all been converted to Runes now, so we have no arti-rings at all. You'd know if you weren't so inactive.

actually, there are tons of arti-rings.. especially those rings of power

Technically the artifact is the rune on the ring, not the ring itself. Then again the ring takes on the artifactness of the rune once to place it on it, so you could argue that there are arti-rings.
Also, Not really sure why -anyone- would place all your artifacts on one ring, when you could spred them out, to help give you bonus charges for more enchantment types. You waste that +10 charges if you place more then one rune on a single piece.
Narsrim2006-03-31 22:52:28
The sip ring in Lusternia = philosopher stone, which does increase my mana sip. <3 philosopher stone.

Well, when I get back from being shrubbed, I will have like 2000 credits on Sano, I was wondering, Narsrim, sense you're a pro of it, should I learn Jewelry for that stone thing, and forging for the full plate, and then maybe learn Alchemy for the alchemist stone? Ashteru, I'm igasho level 79, and I have not a problem hunting the Gorgog's, if you get a cape with fire resistance, it is like not having the damage to fire lvl 1 effect. If you also get good 270+ speed weapons, you won't have to worry about a thing, Surge isn't needed, and i have seen a level 53 Igasho taking on Gorgog's.
Murphy2006-05-04 05:25:41
Warriors can't be alchemists so no sipping stone for you!
Learn forging for the fullplate, it's definitley worth it (it seems to give a bigger bonus than in achaea) and make yourself some fine weapons.
Apart from that, don't waste too much messing around with tradeskills cause you'll need to trans discipline, planar, resilience, all guildskills, tumble in environment, maybe some into magic and a few other bits and pieces, so save all the credits you can!

You say it right, Igasho.
Igasho = tanky bastards.
Murphy2006-05-04 10:26:00
orclach are still better, no balance penalty.
Ashteru2006-05-04 11:55:05
Actually, for bashing, Tae'dae with good speedweapons are best. I wouldn't know ANYTHING that could kill those tanky bastards.
Unknown2006-05-04 13:03:36
I remember as one of my alts, Rabeth has some tae'dae flails that where able to keep up with a 180 damage broadsword, when I was Elfen. And Igasho's are tanky. Murphy- I have Blademaster Transed, and probably going to join celest for Sacraments and Forging, I am 10 credits away from Surge, Going to trans planar, I'm up to link, going to get Autumn in lowmagic, then I'm going to split it up to discipline for focus spirit only, and then I'm also going to try and get some resilience in, just up to gifted. I think I want to pump some Aethercraft in for no reason *snuigger* only like 150 lesson waste. Amongst that, I am actually in all getting....900 plus the 15% thingy, so that's.... 135 extra, so 1035, giving 20 away, 1015, giving 20 away again and another do, so 975, then 100 for reincarnation dagger, 875, and then selling 75 for gold.... I have 1620 bonus lessons left on Sano, so 1620+(800*6)=1620+3200=4820 lessons to spend away. And then you also have to lear nthe fact that I will be bashing non stop for about a week. So hella cweddies their.
Arix2006-05-04 16:23:19

Sano will notice how
amount of credits bought != skilllevel or success in combat.
