Could be a very bad idea to post this... A new guild, probably with new archetype.

I miss the Idras, that was the one thing I liked about the Achaea, or whatever game it was in.
Hazar2006-03-29 21:02:42
Those daggers were cool.
Arix2006-03-29 21:05:44
And that thing where they could put stuff in people's inventories
Richter2006-03-29 21:56:20
I think I can do that in Lusternia already. O_O Can't we? Or is it just see their inventory? It might be that. Ignore me.
Arix2006-03-29 21:58:27
consider yourself ignored.

Im not too partial to theif guilds or assasions as they tend to cause a lot of grief if they continuously target the same people over and over and over.
Shadow guild names should really only be part of Glomdoring, followers of Night and Crow. Unless for some reason they too follow Night.

BLOODCONTRACT
2 Power
You form a contract in blood with another to carry out a hit against a person on their behalf. In the eyes of Avechna you are not responsible for their death, but rather the one who sought out the contract.

Idrasi= Imperian's assassins who were anti-magick.
Dagger=Sitara. Evil bone handled kcnife.
I think that an Anarchy type guild would be rather interesting. But those of you who said that this idea is like the Idras from impy, I've got to disagree. The whole "thief" thing is more of Saboteur's thing. They're assassins, but they use magick and they take peoples shtuff...and erm nevermind.
I don't think that this guild would be tied to anything in peticular...just themselves. Since all they would really care about is the money right?

What kind of people would a guild of assassins be supposed to attract? They couldn't be very good at assassinating if avenger was as mean to them as everyone else. Was just a thought anyway.
Get the person when said person is out of prime. Avenger will not protect him anyway, and this way you need more skill because you have to manage to get that person out of prime

So? It's still a nice idea. And it's lusterniarised

What would be the point of assasination if the person had vitae. You'd just kill them and they'd come back and you'd be like
" Ok, contract done. Wheres my money Elcyrion , i assasinated Kalodan for you."

Would be so, so easy to abuse that. Lets say I wanted to kill Stangmar over and over. Not that I do or anything... just an example... ... anyway, lets say that I did. I find 10 people who never fight or who couldn't kill Stangmar, pay them a little gold to contract me, and I'm set for a while, and he's going to be doing a lot of praying, and I'd probably get bitched at (rightfully) for being a "griefer". So, would be interesting, but the idea still needs a little more thought.
Iridiel2006-03-30 16:27:52
In achaea I still remember the "Taking contracts on for free. I might even pay you of you contract me" over the market channel.
So Acrune scenary is 100% possible.
Not to say, 2 power is ridiculously low. A novice fresh out of the portal could do that almost.

I don't think it would be hard to find some sort of mechanic which could cater for it. Like say.. suppose player A is on your bullies list. You can hire an assassin: you lose suspect on him, he gains suspect on you. If you randomly hire on someone without any sort of avenger suspect, they immediately gain 2 on you, and gain the option of having an Avatar spank you heartily.
Something similar.

It's not a bad idea, but it just doesn't work in the context of the game, because if you help one city raid the other you'll get enemied to the city you're raiding and they won't let you work for them, in which case you might as well have joined the city you were working for in the first place.
Also, all guilds have to belong to a city or commune.
Yeah, the belonging to a commune would be hard. But assassins aren't supposed to be in raids. They're supposed to sneak into the city, and in dark alleys take out half the fighter ony by one, knock him out, and give you the chance to pull off a raid while the assassin himself is torturing the fighter in a secret lair.

I thought that this was why we had champions? They are supposed to defend and seek revenge for us if we are unable to do so ourselves. I dont see why we need assassins really.
Richter2006-03-30 18:42:33
Because they'd be a supercool Deepnight guild.
Ikul2006-03-30 18:51:37
Because these guys can also be used for revenge on somebody more powerful than you, even if that someone did not really attack you but pissed you off in some other way. And because there are hardly any restrictions on what an assassin can kill for you. As long as it's your responsibility.
Richter2006-03-30 21:46:05
I'm waiting for you to draw up a skillset. Not that anything will be done even then... But it'll at least show... something!
Just so we all understand, the majority of player ideas (unless they're envoy ideas), never see the light of day. Sorry!
