Should players be allowed to Scry from their manse? Currently, if you use any scrying ability from a manse, there is no limit to which plane you can see. Thus, someone can see someone who is on Astral, Cosmic, Elemental, Ethereal, and Prime all at once, without moving.

Should this be allowed? Is this a bug? Working as intended?

The manses are in the aetherways, which run alongside all planes. You can also tesseract out of a manse to any plane.

As for whether it should be allowed...

Does that work the other way too? Can you tesseract from a plane to a manse?

I wish.

No, the only way to enter a manse is to use the portal room, or teleport in from another manse. You can't create rifts to anywhere.

Back on topic... Scrying from Manses: Working as Intended?

I would have to agree with what Elryn said. Since there are entrances to all the planes from the Aetherways (as Elryn's AWESOME map shows) then I would assume this is the way it was intended, the Aetherways being directly connected to all the planes. I thought it was a bit odd the first time I astrosensed someone on Astral from my manse, but did't really think too deeply into it.

It's pretty lame, but it is logical being that aetherways are one plane away from every other plane.

There are actually places in the aetherways where you have to transverse to another part of aetherspace that is closer to a set plane. They have thought this all out.

In the Aetherways you can:
Listen to chatter on any plane, if you have shortwave.
Tesseract to any plane.
Scry/Window on any plane if you have CosmicSense.

I've also tried teleporting or tesseracting into the aetherways. I got a message telling me that I can't teleport into the aether like that. The only ways to enter aetherspace are from the 26 portal rooms.
