Narsrim arrives from the southwest.
5233h, 5154m, 4686e, 10p, 32080en, 20200w exk<>-
You feel your will manipulated by a pooka.
Clutching your temples, you squeeze your eyes shut and chant as your mental reserves are channeled into your body.
7610h, 2377m, 4686e, 7p, 32080en, 20050w xk<>-
Eyes flashing with anger, Narsrim points a finger imperiously at you and utters a series of guttural croaks. A strange thrumming fills your stomach, and you watch in horror as warts break out over your skin which then turns green and slimy. The world seems to suddenly become much larger...or are you becoming smaller? Hmm, why do you have a sudden craving for flies?
I have posted about this before, several months ago actually. But it is absolutely ridiculous that this is still possible.

Oh? This comes from the guy who uses thunderclap all the time.
4489h, 6787m, 4824e, 6p, 24339w xk<>- This is with Tosha, otherwise, I'm left with 200-300 health
Throwing his arms back, Daevos brings them together again suddenly, causing a powerful shockwave to explode out from him.
Mitch swoons for a moment then rises again, flushed but strong.
The concussion of the shockwave shatters Malicia's skull, killing her instantly.
Malicia has been slain by Daevos.
Malicia drops a wormwood stem.
Malicia drops a sparkleberry.
A force like an invisible battering ram slams into you, flinging you from your feet and sending you tumbling to the ground, your head ringing with pain.
867h, 6787m, 4824e, 6p, 24339w xkp<>-
Is your complaint with cheap tactics only used against you? It seems like it to me.

How does a guaranteed instant kill compare to something that may or may not kill?
Acrune2006-04-04 01:49:34
This should be a funny thread to watch. *munches popcorn*

Without Tosha if I am 200-300 health below max, thunderclap instantly kills me (and it has happened many times) and it is quite a bit easier to pull off "thunderclap," that it is to get pooka on a target and catch them on equilibrium without shield up.
You can argue all you want, but thunderclap is being removed. Daevos even went so far as to agree at the envoy summit was insane... yet he still uses it all the time... *ponder* If he thought it was ridiculous and he objects to ridiculous abilities, why is using it then?
Diamante2006-04-04 01:51:28
*brings a large coke with two straws and sits next to acrune, letting out a vicious yawn as he stretches his arm slowly over acrune's shoulder....*

Because it is NOT a guaranteed instant kill. I've survived Aesyra's easily, even without surge up (which was far less health than you had). Yes, it is overpowered, but it is NOWHERE NEAR as bad as this. Period.
Torak2006-04-04 01:55:01
I survived Tclap before.

Does your need to state that say anything about the skill?

Cannibalize/Toadcurse isn't guarenteed either. It requires the target be standing, have 3p, and not be shielded... and not have formerly cannibalized. Had any of those "it isn't guarenteed factors" been present, it would have failed.
=====================================================================
As Geb once mentioned and I do think we can all agree Geb is a fairly objective person:
Are you trying to tell me that thunderclap/cleave -or- thunderclap/swing to instantly kill anyone from full health isn't ridiculously overpowered? And even if on the "ridiculous" scale, the toadcurse trick ranks a 10, and thunderclap is a 9.5, who honestly cares?
The point is that if you object to overpowered combos, you shouldnt be doing them on a daily basis and then complaining when another is turned against you.

Murphy has survived pooka/toadcurse too. He used this magic ability called: evoke pentagram.

Of course it does, Torak is a bashing noob, if he can survive it... anyone can!
Xenthos2006-04-04 01:59:16
I object to this ****.
What am I doing that's overpowered on a daily basis, so that you can dismiss my claim as easily?

Objection noted. I never claimed it wasn't overpowered. However as Lisaera said in a former thread about design issues, this is something that has been reported (even in past envoy reports) and will likely change (thunderclap included).
What more do you want?
Unknown2006-04-04 02:40:07
I agree that pooka appears to need looking into. This sort of thing shouldn't be possible.
Ixion2006-04-04 03:07:51
Tclap is being removed.
Tclap is not pooka'd canni/toadcurse, so bringing it up is just a lame hijack.
Now that we have that cleared up, there is no way pooka should be able to force power feats. I think anyone with an ounce of objectivity can agree to that

Thuderclap is overpowered, so are champion helms, transmigration, one-hit behead and three-hits bash brain. Come on! Just because other skills are overpowered really makes no difference.
Pooka Cannibalize/Toadcurse is cheap. Period. Not cheap for Narsrim the character, since it is still legal and every moon/shadowdancer has the right to employ this strategy. Despite all your attempts to bring up objectivity etc, it still makes you, as a accomplished player, look bad.

I didn't bring this up, Daevos did, who actively uses thunderclap.

I just wish that envoy changes would be implemented soon. This is exactly the kind of thing that frustrates people and drive them from the game.
Murphy2006-04-04 03:47:52
narsrim every time someone brings up your unexcusable abuse of game design, you always try to put it back on them or someone else. Just wear it, admit it and then the thread can stop there.
