Nah people who have common sense know when to ask for downgrades to themselves, like pooka!

But really moon beam is the best thieving skill because it works in stock rooms aside from that Im not to bothered by its great utility use just the potential for theivey.

A very simple trigger prevents it from working into a stockroom. Here, let me post it again:

#TRIGGER {^A beam of moonlight comes down from the sky and bathes (%w) in light.$} {
#echo %ansi( 90)- Incoming beam to %1! -
#if (@instockroom) {
stockout
}
}

Then to set the variable so you don't spam yourself every time you get a beam:

#ALIAS stockin {
take key##### from @mybp
unlock door in
open door in
in
close door out
~lock door out
put key##### in @mybp
instockroom=1
}

#ALIAS stockout {
take key##### from @mybp
unlock door out
open door out
out
close door in
~lock door in
put key##### in @mybp
instockroom=0
}

And shorlen what happens if the person who is using the prism/moon beam isnt being so mind nummingly obvious as that and are using a little bit of tatics to get into your stock room?

Like.. say... icewalling the exit up before prisming in?

Easier said than done, of course.. because you have to know which person owns which shop.

Wow thats actually quite a good idea, my idea wasnt quite as nice as that but it would have got me in anyway.
Vix2006-04-09 20:29:49
Well, with the exception of Voron (and maybe Yrael if he makes a Moondancer alt tongue.gif), Moondancers/Moon Serenguard don't generally steal from shops. Just doesn't really fall under Serenwilde thinking. Some other idiot may get the bright idea to get class, quit, and steal stuff though.

And you can icewall a closed door? Thought I heard somewhere that wasn't possible. Guess I was wrong. You could magelock sure, but that would take a team of two.

It works alright.. just tried it to make sure. You aren't actually icewalling the door, just the direction..

Moonbeam is great if you get stuck in a locked manse room with a mono in it. Like when marcalo was kidnapping people a long time ago and doing that very thing
Yrael2006-04-09 22:06:35
Just bug it. Repeatedly. It'll go through. Eventually. God knows I went on about that "being able to push hexes while offbalance" for long enough.

Bug what?

Everything working as intended isnt it?

Make it not move out but instead leap out. Or if you can't leap, ignite the direction first.

This isn't hard, people tongue.gif

Moonbeam is not fine.

Key sigil may work, yarr moonbeam isnt bad, still the best thing for thievery, why yrael went moondancer alty wasnt it?

No, he went Moondancer for Pooka. The reason he didn't go Shadowdancer was because Shadowdancers have laws against theft, and Moondancers don't.

Pooka+moonbeam+allowing theft=best thieving guild in the game.

Eh, don't see how giving your victim a 12 second warning is good, but I guess if they are AFK, it works.

It's not just that. I do a lot of my playing on Java. I only have Zmud on my laptop at home.. currently I'm logged in from a public computer in a library, where I'm still here at almost midnight "working". If I'm checking through my stockroom contents and pricing and the like, I'm often scrolled up. If someone moonbeamed me at the wrong moment, chances are I wouldn't react fast enough.

But then, I have a gem. I -always- have aethersight up.. and if I catch you scrying me repeatedly and moving closer, I'm going to have a fair inkling what's going on.
