It'd be nice if there was somewhere to go sad.gif I guess Serenguard, as I don't want to deal with the mess that are Demesnes.

Heh, not that I have the credits to change from wiccan to warrior anyway and still trans an aethercraft specialization when and if they ever come out, and that's the only part of Lusternia that's still interesting tongue.gif

QUOTE(Viravain)
If I honestly cared what players thought of Me, I might be hurt by your last statement. Especially considering it is the farthest thing from the truth.

While I might agree that Narsrim's last post was over the line, I do think it's important for the admins to care what players think. It's a thankless job, but still the idea behind the job seems to be to please the player base. I hope this was a statement made of anger or hurt rather than honesty.

Caring what the players think is an entirely different thing from caring what they think about Myself.

Note that she doesn't say, "I don't care what players think." Instead, she states "I don't care what players think of me." There is a slight difference.

The difference is hardly "slight."

It's too bad the Viravain doesn't care what players think of her. If she did she would get a self confidence boost every morning. biggrin.gif

In fact, invid, I believe, suggested we shouldn't be part of Serenwilde on CT because we are in fact dirty slavers and that's not something Serenwilde as a whole should tolerate.

Ooh. That's sticking the knife in.

Anyway Nars, lighten up. You are still being absurdly dramatic about what is, though thoroughly enjoyable, a text based internet game.

And Viravain, I wub.gif you, even if you don't like Top Gun.

I'm a dramatic roleplayer. One of the reason I like being a Moondancer is because the guild is (perhaps reaching unhealthy levels) passionate about what it does. I have never been any other organization anywhere in IRE (and I've been in Aetolia, Achaea, and Imperian) that compared except for perhaps Niuri's Order in Aetolia.

On that note, I do apologize. I went over the line with that and if you can't tell, I tried to quickly edit it but alas, I was not quick enough because forums is being mean today.

I just want the Moondancers to move on and be able to maintain what I feel is a positive environment for its members and to be able to become as "into it" as they have been. I would, as a member of the Moondancers and the GC, be upset if people felt that option was no longer there for them.

I think some people took this too far, but I am going to watch my mouth all the same so as not to attack others.

Read the histories and look at Rowena in the histories, and her motivations pre and post taint. Then look at Rowena in game now. Then Look at our avatars in regards to the fae, then look at how they switched and changed 3 times, then look at Viravain's RP... Just read HELP VIRAVAIN to get a nice glimpse at the self contraditory nature of Her charachter.

I wonder if any of you ( who are quiting, quit or think its a good idea to quit/ get dpressed) would have been able to handle any of the first two IC years of Glomdoring, or even the first couple of months of meeting the charachters and seeing thier diverse and complex personalities...

For Example.. Viravain IS Glomdoring, however the two most worshiped beings prior to Viravain was Brennan and Rowena.. even now they are main teachers.. However, Viravain HATED/Hates Brennan and Rowena because they are undead and could not continue growing and give her children. Talk about moral dillema internal conflict.

Serenwilde existed for 15 ingame years without the existance of Glomdoring, and had RP back then, that had nothing to do with Glomdoring. You need to learn a little bit about adapting and how to be more subtle and complex about your views.

Dag, Your words obviously hurt me and I feel they were inappropriate, but I should behave all the same.
I got that far, and decided I didn't want to read the rest of your post, it's probably a load of rubbish anyhow.
Daganev2006-04-10 21:55:09
hmm, Sorry that was taken as insulting. But its really not healthy...

Lets look at it in a bit of a more concrete example.

You spend 40 years laying down brick and mortar to build a monument to Mohammed. The Taliban comes along and convinces you and the rest of the world that building a monument to Mohammed is blasphemy and an insult to His name, based on some very convincing things you never thought about before.

That really should NOT negate the 40 years of devotion and hard labor you put into that, it should only negate you from building more monuments in the future. It is not healthy to allow things that are happening now to negate the reality of the past.

Hypothesis: A successful event should change the Basin and cause turbulence that affects the lives of players. Traumatic things happen in the real world, too.

Conclusion: This event was successful.
Tsuki2006-04-10 22:05:07
Ah, but thankfully you're forgetting the small town full of villagers who like the work with the monument and us for building it. And that the arguments were never very convincing.

Then maybe those people should continue to build the monument, and tell the Powers that Be to leave them alone. Maybe they can build and call it something other than a monument, while the underlying reason remains the same.

Maybe the Serens can continue to bring the fae to Mother Moon, even if they'd rather stay in Faethorn. Maybe they can't say it's so they can frolic in the icy gardens, but the Wilde still offers some degree of protection against the more malicious faeslayers, no?

Perhaps some people don't need nor want a self confidence boost because they are already comfortable enough with themselves that additional reinforcement would have little effect.
Unknown2006-04-10 22:26:00
You take me way to seriously. dry.gif

And besides she is obviously either very comfortable with who she is since she doesn't care what we think of her or she holds us at very low esstem. But A little boost should always welcome ( at least I think so ) no matter how "comfortable" you are with yourself.

Ok, thats fine, but then those villagers are not really part of the community anymore, and thats a whole nother barrel of apples.

If you felt it was important to still be part of the original community, it still should not negate the previous 40 years of work, or put to question your fundemental principles. Its only going to change how you express those principles in the future.
