I think the new rapture update makes the system work differently, so the majority of the 'updating' is going through ALL the code and making it more compatible. Could be wrong though.

Work FASTER
I keed... I just wanted to say that, you guys, I know kinda how hard it is to code.. I had my problems with C++, Pascal(*cough*), Visual Basic/FoxPro and others during my high school years(Mexicans are crazy, but it rocked) and I remember the nights I spent constructing my Databases of near thousand entries and the programs to work with them for my Senior year final exam(that it took around 2 semesters to finish)... And those were the basics, so I know - and I also know better to work on something not related with scripts...
Just want to say, Thanks... You guys did a wonderful job with Lusternia.. so purrty with purrty colors

I know NOTHING about Rapture code, however, here is a small example of how a simple change or update to the system could take forever to fix.
Lets say you had a simple function called CreateMob() and you had to code it like this...
rat = CreateMob();
rat.name = black rat
rat.gold = 15
rat.xp = -5 (I kid)
Now they have decided a better way to make these creatures which saves processing time and memory allocaion, so the new method is like this.
rat = CreateMob(black rat, 15, -5);
To do all that recoding, and to make sure you don't do
rat = CreateMob(rat, -5, 15) ... Can take quite a bit of time and requires paying close attention.

I always feel bad for them. They put SO much of their time and even themselves into this game only to listen to people whine and complain about things on the forums. Rarely do they get the understanding and love they really do deserve for such a marvelous game. I never thought I'd stop playing Achaea, but after exploring the game for a couple nights months ago I decided never to leave. Never have regretted it...except that one night I was REALLY drunk and trying to play. Big no no. Much love and thanks to the team.

Yea I could easily see myself (or is it my self?) playing lusty for a loong time. I am even considering buying some credits to help things along.
But Penpen, you know, and I think we all do, that the Admins know that no matter how much we whine/grip/"bish" or what have you, they know we of the forums are only a small amount of th eplayerbase, and eventhough we gripe alot, we still all appreciate their work, and they know we do.
But sometimes it is just good to hear it..

I've offered to give up my character and his $40m gp or so empire to do bitchwork for the gods. Though, I suppose my lack of coding experience could be seen as a negative.

You weren't accepted because you're better off paying for their mortgage than coding for them.

Way to success:
- Make coders and ephs all those people who never buy credits or buy so few it's not a problem, so they can help the game in a different way.
- Keep playing as hopeless adicts all those who pay lusternia bills, as they're already helping the game enough with their money.
