The body parts you can apply things to are: Head, Chest, Gut, arms, legs.

If you know more info, you can specify left or right arm and legs, but you don't have to.

I use zMUD and have studied the scripts posted here. Unfortunately, it is like reading Greek and I only understand a small part of what I'm reading. And putting it all together seems hopeless. I really do envy you folks who can write those scripts.

Bye the way, the crab bites on the foot. Can you apply mending to foot? Also, by the time I regain balance I'm about 1 second away from being dead. sad.gif

Heh. When people here say you can bash something at level x, they actually mean if you have a fully functioning curing system, lightning reflexes and know exactly what you are doing you can bash this thing at level x. So just be careful.

I hear Toronada is not to hard but requires curing... which means that its trickier for beginners than creatures that are stronger but simpler to face.

What you really should do, is find someone who can help you out in game, show you what to do, and help you set up some basic curing. Then all will be good smile.gif
ferlas2006-04-13 10:31:24
No razorvine you dont need a fully automatic curing system to bash at all, I bash without triggers to save health sips, a few aliases will speed things up though.

You can do tornaldo flats at about 20+ the crabs may be a bit hard try the seaguls or the other stuff. I think the crabs are the hardest mob there.
Shryke2006-04-13 17:40:31
Yeah, in the brief time that I bashed toranda I just stayed away from crabs, they are the worst/hardest mob of all, but everything else seemed fine.
Moral of the story: dont get crabs, it sucks.

Thanks for all the replys and help smile.gif . I am lvl 25 now from killing rats and a couple quests. The last time I tried the flats at lvl 22 I got killed by a starfish while sipping health. Do you think that I have a bit better chance now? Also, I do pentagram before I blast but it doesn't seem to help at all. Am I not using pentagram correctly? I don't have armor type cloths just shirt and pants so no protection there. I am becomming frustrated. sad.gif Whould it help if I did a reflection of myself before blasting?
Tzekelkan2006-04-17 17:48:50
Actually, that's not the way pentagram works. Pentagram is a magical shield that will protect you against attacks, but if you do any aggressive action (like blasting) it dissipates. So the strategy for using a pentagram is to evoke it when you are close to dying. For example, when that crab is one shot away from killing you, you quickly evoke pentagram. While the pentagram is up, you can heal/meditate/sleep without any problems. When you're fully healed, just blast the crab again.
ferlas2006-04-17 17:53:45
What you want to do is blast then use your pentagram, this means the animal cant hurt you while you sip back your health.

You eventually will be able to blast a few times before having to use your pentagram to heal up again.

Most races have some kind of regeneration ability. Check the help file for your race to find out where you can use it. Also, if you can fly, DO SO! It is very useful, but I suppose pentagram works just as well. And have you read CHELP SUPPLICANTS? It's Celest's power quest.
Unknown2006-04-17 20:30:02
Just in case you don't know (I had this problem) you can sip health while off balance or off equilibrium.
Hazar2006-04-17 20:53:24
I did fine with crabs at 21...but I'm krokani. Damn we're tanky.

If Toronada gives you problems, best to quest your way into your thirties. Problem solved.

Toronada is also a good place to teach yourself basic scripting. Each mob generally has one affliction (pelicans/seagulls have two). Capture them, stick them in a trigger, get the cures. You've scripted! Whee!

Gees, I wish that I could figure out zMUD scripting! I study scripts on the foriums and get so lost my head swims. I tried to study the help files but they are so disorganized that they only confuse me more. If I ever learn to do just simple scripts I will be elated.
ferlas2006-04-18 18:30:35
If you ask what kind of script you want, an auto sipper a few simple triggers for mending applyication or drinking fire im sure a lot of people will be willing to share one with you, in fact I know there are a few free systems running around if you want one of them.

No you don't need one.
But it certainly helps... especially for those who are new and don't know what's happening.

You can do far better without, because you know what you're doing. Its as simple as that.
ferlas2006-04-27 10:10:01
Oh yea definatly if your new go and grab ethelons free system and it'll pretty much teach you how to cure it would help you a lot when your sitting there instead of wondering how to cure a broken leg it just does it for you and you learn in future that mending works for that.

I got Ethelons free system and it has made all the difference in the world. I have no trouble bashing on the tidal flats at all now and also rock eaters. Since I got it I have only died once. I blasted a crab and it broke my leg so I was prone and I found out that you can't blast while prone. I didn't have any mending because I didn't think I would need it on the tidal flats so I ended up dieing. So I got some mending and now when a crab breaks a leg the system cures it and I keep blasting away till the crab is dead.

I don't like mushclient as well as I did zmud but that is a small price to pay to be able to survive and have fun again.

Thanks to all for all the feedback. rolleyes.gif

Good to hear that things are going well! I'd stick with Ethelon's system for awhile while you figure things out. However, it will only get you so far in the long run, since it's a bit outdated.

I would recommend working on simple things in zMUD. I'm not the greatest scripter around, but I can pretty much get zMUD to do what I want it to do. If you'd like some help, I can teach you the basics.

In addition, you might consider saving up credits to purchase Iasmos' healing system. Murphy/Thorgal's combined healing system also seems good, but I would recommend Iasmos' in particular. Both of these are for zMUD, and will be much more effective for you than Ethelon's as you get to higher levels and become more involved with the intricate combat system.

As a Tae'dae bonecrusher, I had almost no trouble at all with smashing through crowds of crabs, seagulls, starfish, and assorted tidal creatures, straight out of Newton. I had to use some creative tactics at times, but the experience gains were penomenal. Only real problem I had was with deafness, since I didn't always notice when I had it.... And I'd ask silly questions and say stupid things that had already been answered... Then I'd diagnose and notice I'm deaf.

My problem with deafness in a newbie-ish area is when a newbie is told Toronada is a good place to bash and not told how to cure deafness. So, you get newbies who go there, and suddenly stop hearing other people who are talking to them. They could ask how to cure deafness if they realize they have it, but they are unlikely to hear the answer for hopefully obvious reasons.

It's a nice newbie affliction to give in that it doesn't actually hurt them, but true newbies who are in need of help and don't know how to cure things yet run into the roadblock of being unable to hear advice and instructions.

Well, just five minutes ago I found out that you could cure it by applying health. Before that, I thought you needed herbs, which I didn't have, so I was sort of reduced to relying on the generosity of my commune to pull me out. Which is why, to this day, I don't hunt seagulls and pelicans. But now that I know about the health, maybe I'll start again.

Seagulls are actually the best things to hunt there at low levels, in my opinion. As long as you know how to cure deafness by applying health to head tongue.gif
