LONG DESC:Crafted from fine steel out of the dwarven mines, this double-headed
hammer is perfectly balanced, ideal for war. The heads have been
smoothed into a rounded shape and the sides inlaid with gold,
masterfully crafted to depict a battle. The hilt of the weapon has been
formed from light silver, mixed with some steel to provide some strength
to the weapon. The middle of the hammer has been left plain as to
provide a space to put markings or runes upon the weapon. A small gold
band encircles the top and bottom of the grip, with dwarven runes
marking the bands.
It has 340 months of usefulness left.
It weighs about 6 pounds.
It bears the distinctive mark of Master of the Bloodhunt, Ciaran, Dreadlord
Apprentice.

This is random but has anyone else noticed that after a certain point, the speed of a weapon just doesn't matter? I have a couple of 279 rapiers that I bash with and as a Merian I get 3 second balance recovery. Well, I dropped down to around 250 speed on some rapiers to test and lo and behold, I still got 3 second balance recovery! With 257 and 222 speed rapiers I'm at around 3.5.

On the plus side, it means races that don't have a balance bonus don't really need to worry about a really high speed to max out their own balance recovery. On the negative side, ...well, I guess there isn't a negative side. Maybe it's just me though! Someone else test

Don't think you are right there.....my 276 speed hammers let me bash with around 2.8 second recovery.

Yeah, Catarin that's inaccurate. Faelings hit the speed cap of 2 seconds at 275. But if you take the speed down to 270 for example you won't hit 2 seconds any more. Note, this would be a great hammer for aslaran people with drawdown/nightkiss, since they would hit their speed cap of 2 seconds. I haven't tested but I can give you the speed of this hammer as a faeling, aslaran, and as a regular balance race. But this hammer is probably one of the fastest out there, with the others stats being pretty good too, it's well worth the price I'm asking (Best I've gotten in at least 40 hr's of forging)

Oh, I'm not saying it's not worth it for balance bonus classes. Just from what I've seen, the cap for normal balance classes is 3 seconds and they can hit 3 seconds with a much lower speed. Not saying anything about your hammer. It's a great weapon.

except ashteru, who has no balance bonus gets 2.8 seconds.

Not sure what's up. My speed rapiers are at 286 and 289 runed and I'm hitting 3 seconds on the nose consistently.

My hammers unruned and un-nightkissed as I used them in my example:

With Nightkiss, it's at around 2.7 seconds.

With my 271 Katana I could hit 2.5 as a human easily with runes + nightkiss, anyway, my hammer I'm selling is INSANE buy it! 280 speed is unheard of!! 25cr or 100k gold msg me in game.
Edit: even ekard, masterforger has never gotten a 280, msg me! Great for bashing, and pvp as fast as you'll get! Plus 151 prec is nothing to laugh at (with that speed).
