Help, I just got into Achaea...but now I found this incredible world called Lusternia, and....

I just need one question answered -

How did they do it? How did they create Lusternia!?!?!? There should be a documentary about this - the creation of a spectacular MUD!

How did they plan it? Who wrote it? I have never seen another RPG like it, and I TRULY believe it has incredible potential. It's like candy for the mind - it's enriching and wondrous. wub.gif

Welcome in Lusty then.

And Estarra once posted link to some documentary about Lusternia.

Try searching forum. I'm sure it is somewhere.

Gamer Girl's interview

I think that's Estarra, but I don't know for sure.

Fair warning, that site opens a ton of pop-ups.

From what I understand, Estarra (Eris in Achaea) wrote up a rather large proposal to create Lusternia, at some point teamed up with Roark, and the go-ahead was given to create the game, which took something like two years? They got some staff together, spent forever creating the basics and implementing much of their plan (though they've said there's still things in the original plan that we haven't seen yet). After everything was laid down, they entered alpha testing, and later closed beta, which was available to most of us who had been following the game on the MSN group site. Lastly was open beta, where anyone was able to play the game, and the rest is history!

Though, I suppose that only provides some basic details, I'd love to hear more about what went on during development.

Edit: Oh, and yes, that's an interview Estarra did some time ago.

Hrm. The ads must be from where the Google link landed me. The forum link seems clean.

Not just confirmation of the mythical fourth archetype, but confirmation of a FIFTH archetype!

Arix2006-04-12 23:39:35
what archetype would that be?
Hazar2006-04-13 00:17:08
It doesn't really say...but there's this bit where Estarra says 'There's even two whole archetypes we haven't had a chance to implement', or something along those lines.

P.S. I generally played elven face/shamans. Surveillance spells + watchers + 8-9 Charisma = The shizzle

I'm guessing the city architype and commune one will be different, thus two, but still be the same thing, like wiccan-guardian and druid-mage.
