I'm told Distort does stop cubix... if this is true, I move that that be removed. I paid lots of money for this thing, and I want to be able to use it. I know others feel the same.
um, what's the point of posting that here...?
Aiakon2006-04-16 21:07:38
Distort costs LOTS of essence. I really don't think that it working against cubixes will be too much of a concern.

Distort is a shrine skill now, too.

Is this thread even being looked at any more?
Well, here goes: Wrath seems to be somewhat, um... lacking?

Wrath should honestly be doing 10x more damage than that (I'm serious when I mean 10x too). I literally regen the damage it deals. In fact, I regen about 2x what it deals. It also tics randomly. It would hit me like twice in a row and then didn't hit me again for 20 seconds.
This is just outright worthless. It also costs like 150,00 essence (worldburn was 100k) and requires a war shrine with ~10 rooms sanctified (according to Nico). If anything, it should be -better- not worse than worldburn. In fact, I don't see why it just isn't made to do worldburn damage to health/mana/ego at once given its insane essence cost.

I'd also like to suggest that shrine "area" powers work in the pillar/pit locations on Celestia/Nil. It is extremely unfair to people defending cosmic that they would have to erect shrine powers in that 4-5 room areas AND on the outer part of the plane too. Essentially costing them double to protect the plane.

No. No, it shouldn't.
Aiakon2006-04-23 22:39:42
World burn was wildly overpowered, in my view.
Vix2006-04-23 22:39:46
The damage is rather pitiful, but I don't think we need worldburn again. Was sort of ridiculous how it was being used before.
Daganev2006-04-23 23:24:30
What then is an appropriate amount of damage for a 150K essense attack?
Acrune2006-04-23 23:36:51
Lowering the essence cost to 50k and maybe making the power do 500 damage to health, mana, and ego might be good.
Unknown2006-04-23 23:39:26
I agree, maybe double the damage and lower the essence cost a lot. No matter the cost, nothing should be stronger than worldburn, it would just be insane.
Morik2006-04-24 00:00:25
Test the damage out against others, see if its the same. You can absorb stupid amounts of damage Narsrim and are thus a bad measuring stick.
Also, if it does more damage to non-Moon users then I'd suggest altering the damage type to unblockable. It'd mean Narsrim isn't able to absorb the insane amount of damage he normally seems to.

That sounds good, 500 ego health and mana damage every 10 seconds or something for 50k essence sounds like a pretty decent ability.

Let's just say that every single person wrathed today said it "tickled", except for one who was of the opinion that the tickle was okay since it was area wide. The area-wide thing means that Narsrim's "10x" opinion should be immediately discounted, or it becomes a super-powered worldburn. I'd really like essence cost lowered to 50k, and then make it do something like *1/2 of current sip value to each attribute at the same speed as sip balance*. Then you can alternate between sipping health / mana, or just stick with health- but if you're being attacked at the exact same time, you're going to have some issues-- especially if it's a mage with that ego kill. Maybe that is a bit much, but 500 to each every tick is barely going to be noticed by high-level combatants, and be deadly to lower. Some sort of a percentage would be far more balanced.

I'll post this here because I'm not sure its been said yet. But the red from the War Shrines is killing me! Can individual gods change it for their shrines? On Celestia it just looks so tainted...and besides that I liked that taint was like the only thing red, it gave it some uniquness. And made it look scary, that was nice!
Aiakon2006-04-30 10:21:10
Heheheheh.. I have the same problem with the healing shrines. WAAAYY too foresty.
Ixion2006-06-21 07:50:23
Bumping this thread because there are some major problems with the Shrine system. I've bugged and bugged the various problems in detail, but I think the system in general needs to be reviewed, as the bugs are rampant everywhere.
Defiling shrines on celestia or water is quite broken.
EXAMPLES
On celestia:
In Raziela's pillar, there are 5 rooms, and only 3 rooms contain the shrine and sanc'd rooms. The shrine is in the southernmost room, and one sanctified shrine exists on either side, both of which cannot be defiled. Clearly this should be able to be defiled.
Outside the pillars, there is a shrine at the Pool of Stars, and yet only certain rooms can be defiles. This shrine also becomes undefilable at a certain point.
On Water plane:
The war shrine in the starry sea cannot be fully defiled either-- there are several rooms not even connected to each other and yet they cannot be defiled.
Looping shrines to make them undefilable was supposed to be fixed, but it wasn't. Shrines are supposed to be defiled from the outer edges, inward towards the actual shrine room. Such isn't the case.
It's rather frustrating.

Is wrath really only 200 damage? Worldburn wasn't that powerful... since sure, it did 2000 damage or whatnot, it was split between every enemy in its influence. I.E. Assuming it was 2k, two people took 1k each, four people took 500 each, and so on. Kind of like how the ancient Aetolia/Achaea city guards were... you know the invisible ones that weren't actually guards, you just got hit for stupid amounts of damage no matter where you were in the city? The telepaths I think they were.
Ixion2006-06-21 18:33:49
Some part of the damage is percent based.
It does like 250/200/240 damage to me every so often.
I think it hits either a) higher level people or b ) people with higher h/m/e amounts more often. I remember getting hit twice as much as about everyone else last time I was in a wrath.
