You gotta admit it was a bit funny from Daxi's part. laugh.gif

While my character will die if she needs to while she's already helping out the Seas and her City and Guild, that is only if she gets attacked and can't get away.

As I said. And you being incompetent made me feel very happy... and -not- die, yes. Have I told you lately, Aiakon, that I love you?

And Tzek...are you calling that incident funny? If so I can punch you with my twitching hands. You know how shaky I get when I'm running away from Mr. ISummonYoutoYourDeathFishGirl? It did, however, improve my wpm. I probably got to about 80 during that. Is 80 high? I haven't played TyperShark in a while...

Must have misunderstood which event you were talking about.

If it's any consolation, I got killed for real by Kaervas once on Celestia in his Demesne. While flying.

But anyway...

For real made me think ooc...I wonder how much XP you'd lose from that.

Meh, it's okay, Tzek. I'll just ask Shaeden whether he can dump 20 tasks on you at once...which would all be due in an hour...previous to the time he gave them to you.

That one reminds me of my daughters...

Yes. The problem is, that you are in a position where you can force people to fight even if they do not wish to.

And if you force players that do not which to fight to sacrifice their characters over and over again for the city, then you run the risk of driving that player away from the city or even Lusternia.

As has been said, just because a player chooses not to have their character fight, doesn't mean that they aren't contributing in other ways. So at the end of the day, this attitude risks weakening the city more.

Although I found it amusing that you assumed I forced people to fight for the city, or even that I did it so often they quit the fact is I don't force anyone to. I just value those who do more then those who don't. This attitude is a personal attitude, I do not go around telling everyone to fight or die, but if I see a fighter who needs a loan of 10k gold, and say a writer who needs 10k gold the choice is obvious.

Well, IC, all are equal and should die for their city/commune/whatevertheywant. It's the RP you choose that counts, but that still doesn't make non-fighters less important than fighters, since they do just as much. OOC, not everyone can afford one billion credits and artifacts and not everyone can create an amazing healing/fighting system to work with and kick everyone in the behind.

By the way, I'm writing a story for Bardic, mind lending me 10k? ninja.gif

I have concluded that this entire thread is a conspiracy to boost Daxera's and Tzekelkan's post counts. ninja.gif

EDIT: Not that I'm being critical. You can do it!

Just to clarify, I have no need to assume anything.

I'm just saying that its a dangerous attitude to continually force a player to do something they do not wish to do.
