So, many of us Final Fantasy fans have been hoping for a re-release of the original, especially ever since they redid the first part of it with new graphics for E3, just to irritate us all.

A statement was put out saying there were no plans to remake the best game ever made.

very doubtful , that looks like a hoax. Further more they'll create an army of ff-10 sequals and have the same main charecters that are all female, it will plague the memorys of all ff fans alike.

I've still yet to play a game by Square-Enix that wasn't complete garbage. This is amazing, considering that Square and Enix were two of my favourite companies. What did they do, fire all their good designers, writers, and composers when they combined the two companies?

I haven't played that yet Waiting for my friends to finish so I can steal it I hear it's much more of a movie than a game though, and trivially easy, and very short, but oh so very pretty.

More Final Fantasy? Aren't they done milking that ten-year-old cow until it's all bony and dry? (It was about five minutes before the realease of the Final Fantasy movie, by the way).

Err.. what is your link supposed to prove? As far as I can tell it says XII with an incorrect release date as well (But I could be wrong about the date).

I very much doubt they'll do a FFVII remake so soon, unless it's for the PS3 and Nomura is taking a break from the Kingdom Hearts series to do so. Didn't Sakaguchi (The producer) leave Square-Enix to form Mistwalker anyway? The composer also left too so even if they were to re-release it the quality wouldn't be as great as it could've been, art aside.

Not saying it won't happen since FFVII was one of the best in the series, but you'd be better off distracting yourself with something else while waiting for this. Other than last year's E3 teaser, I'd say your best bet is to wait for this year's E3 in May since Nomura has a big surprise to reveal then.

Hm. Since FFVII seems to be revered as a "classic," I've finally decided to get myself a copy since I've never played it (PS2s have backwards capability right?). Felt like an idiot requesting it at EB though. They didn't have it in stock either.

See, the thing is, there -is- no version two, as of yet. They had no plans to remake it, and I found it interesting that it was up on the website. Either they're misinformed, or I'm behind the times.

And FFVII is a greatest hits game, it can be found for $19.99 us at many game stores. It will play perfectly fine on a PS2.

Was looking at the features for the new Advent Children DVD and one of them was listed as "Sneak peak of upcoming 'Final Fantasy VII' games" . It's on the bonus disc. Could it be what you were talking about?

Tactics for PS had the WORST ending EVER!!! The rest of the game kiced ass, but come on.. "Congratulations! You have beaten Final Fantasy Tactics!" O_o
