Also, Focus Mind, Focus Body, Clot, Insomnia etc all have fixed mana cost.

The main issue is that it nerfs the people who DIDN'T have insane health, while being an upgrade for those who did. Which is... odd.
Daganev2006-04-27 19:05:21
See, I just don't get the arugment still... your comparing 2500 mana, to 5,000 mana and saying for twice the amount of mana there is a one amiso difference.
That means the roughly 1,000 mana difference between old surge, and new surge is nothing....

Not really. The races that didn't have insane health didn't have it for a reason. So now the races with high health have high health, and the races with low health have... less high health.

You mean, now the races with insane health still have insane health and more mana, while the races who didn't have insane health, now have even less.

My numbers were a reply to this-
QUOTE(Daganev)
I don't get these arguments, your max mana doesn't mean all that much when most mana attacks are percentage based on some level... the issue is that since surge drains mana, you need all your mana regens just to stay at normal, let alone to fend off the mana drain attacks.
I merely showed that there is a difference between having more mana and less mana when it comes to mana-draining attacks. Using Surge against a Celestine or Wiccan at any given time is just pure stupidity anyway, it doesn't matter if you're talking about old or new Surge, you'll get decimated fast.
Daganev2006-04-27 19:15:07
Thats ok, I mean if you read help aslaran your not suppose to be warriors anyways...

Switch race then. Faelings are supposed to make fast but fragile warriors, if you want to be tank then go Igasho or Tae'dae.
Daganev2006-04-27 19:17:54
Just realized that some people may not get what I said so
excellent hunters. Some males grow great manes. The colour of their fur
ranges from light beige to more tawny browns. Several branches of aslaran
are known to sport stripes or spots. Their natural speed make them excel
in any physical profession.
Hunting is obviously only suppose to be ment for druids who have the uber cudgel attack.

And we *were* fast but fragile warriors. There was no need to make us more fragile, so that the more tanky races could have a bit more mana when surged. None at all.

Thus I don't understand the argument that said that this change help against people who have mana based instantkills....
Terenas2006-04-27 19:24:33
And where did I argue that this will help against people with mana-based instantkills? Only an idiot would use Surge against a Celestine/Wiccan. The rationale Lisaera gave for downgrading Surge is what you are arguing against, I'm merely pointing out having higher mana does help.
Daganev2006-04-27 19:27:42
*boggle* I swear that sometimes people forget these are forums and not personal discussions...
Thorgal2006-04-27 19:34:55
I'm having trouble believing that anything with a lvl2 healing bonus can be fragile, regardless of the health. Even unspecialized Faeling with trans resilience and decent greatrobes are a complete bitch to kill.
Daganev2006-04-27 19:36:35
Mobs can do a lot more damage than us puny mortals.

If you read what he quoted and said was Truth, yes. If you don't care to actually go and check it, well... not much I can do to help ya.
