Celina keeps doing that.

I do? I'd love examples.

Really, it's just a chance for people to flame me with no real grasp on reality or fact. You kind of get used to it.

Like I said, don't mention monks as anything but underpowered or people get huffy.

Drop the guild hopping insults. It's not really...insulting. The sky is blue! The grass is green! Celina has been in 5 guilds! Yeah...okay. You are right?

Its not the guild hopping. It is how you bitch about a class while you are in one guild. When you move to the next guild it is a whole new class you find to bitch about. When you move again its another class. And if I am right, it was bards you were last bitching about while you were a druid, then didn't you go bard and change up to bitching about monks? If not you went immediately to geomancer and started bitching about monks. Either way, class change, new guild to bitch about.

This gives people the impression that you bitch about classes your "current" class cannot fight against well. Which is why people make fun of the guildhopping. It's not the hopping. Look at Lyco, he has been all over the place, but when he switches guilds he doesn't complain about another guild. He learns how to fight with the current class he chose and ends up being one of the best of his current class.

I want to ask.. (and since this thread seems to be something that is related to the game mechanics ive put it here) --

im tempted to buy some credits right now because im so squishy some mobs just obliterates me in one hit.. but i cannot trans it.. so the question is

would sinking about 600lessons or so to resileice give some bonus that will be felt.. or is it soemthing that needs to be transed?
Shiri2008-02-01 10:05:37
You should normally make a topic in survival for this, that's what that forum is for.

Since you asked though, resilience is lesson-based, so that should give you about 1/3 of the effect you'd have at trans.
Eldanien2008-02-01 10:07:42
This more belongs in another subforum, but... each point of Resilience is supposed to be as important as any other. It's a linear progression. Trans gives ~25% physical damage resistance. So 600 lessons would be about 8 and a half percent physical damage resistance.

My tests are inconclusive, but tend to indicate otherwise. But that's what general consensus seems to be.
Eldanien2008-02-01 17:48:03
A bit late and still unimportant... but Avoid dodges some PvP psionic attacks.

Carry on.
Shiri2008-02-05 01:40:49
+ Geomancers will be able to see through their own duststorms.
+ Regenerative enchantments will work while Shadows are released in a
room.
+ Blindness will no longer remove impalements and grapples.
+ Avatar resurrection is no longer possible on Avengered people.
+ Invisibility will be stripped upon entering the arena for Freezetag
and Slippers.
+ Healing auras cast on a target will be removed when that target dies.
+ You can change a string of kata forms after the third form has
triggered. This resets the counter; you can reset it again after three
more, etc. The speed up now starts at the third form, when you can
change it around, but it is faster than before.

Yeah, I don't get the speed-change-reversal. But okay!

But I can't see through a weather phenomenon with my bloody Weathersight. *grumble*

What? That's an upgrade. Not only do we now speed up, but we don't have to hit parry/stance all the time since we can change targets.

Everyone else: you'll be fine for a while, everything hinders us for no reason again and it's taking ages to get fixed. *mutter*

I expected the whiner to post and ew.

But you. Damnit Xenny, you have been through all the discussion prior to the release and yes I know you didn't agree fullheartedly on it. But your resolution to it was explained as being too hard to code. That and I am sure we would have heard more than an ew out of the peanut gallery if they knew what your plans were with monk wounding smile.gif (which I still liked)

Yes, I have been through it. And I did post that I felt this decision was essentially reversing the recent changes, while adding in one of the most prevalent monk-complaints that led to the standardized speed level (my speed gets reset when the form breaks! Passive demesne effects kill me!). While, at the same time, leaving Monks at their full (already deemed too-fast) speed against those without an easy method of passive form-breaking (Warriors,NPCs, for example).
Ildaudid2008-02-05 02:49:32
Still not sure about it though, I didn't get a chance to test it, but if it is increasing when you midstream change and only the 2-3 of the midstream are increased.

If I remember right, 1st form is slow, 2nd form is bit faster and 3-xx is the same as second, which was not like it was before where 2-11 increased more and more.
Shiri2008-02-05 02:49:47
Our speed reset seems to put us at a point where it's faster than the original -really slow- first form part, so monks should not be complaining about this one.
Callia2008-02-05 02:54:47
I am going to complain, now I actually have to make more katas, well update katas, because I will actually get to use them now...

wait, that is not a complaint, that is a yaay! Flexibility FTW!
Xavius2008-02-05 03:03:20
So, um, how do monks fight druids now? I realize that we're a very, very small part of the fighting population, but...I don't see it happening ever.
Callia2008-02-05 03:05:43
lure them out of their demesne with promises of promiscuous trees?

How have recent changes changed how monks fight druids?
