Yeeeeuuuuuh. That crow change is sexy. Of course, I have no idea how to add that into my system, but still. Hot.

And the Starleaper change is freaking awesome. I'd hardly say it "killed" the skill. It's still a way to escape if you are in trouble. Now you can't spam it endlessly and NEVER DIE.
Ildaudid2008-05-07 02:09:27
But you have to admit... 5 mins for any skill is an insanely long cool down period.

** Update to announce 1082: SlitThroat is a swing again, Night drink may now be
turned off, and the Tarot Starleaper cooldown period has been reduced in
duration. **

QUOTE
Gathering a handful of salt, Sarrasri sprinkles it around the ground on a ritual
zodiac circle, carefully marking each of the constellations of legend and lore.

Standing in the centre of a ritual zodiac circle drawn in salt, Sarrasri casts
her hands up towards the stars and whispers the names of the planets. She points
an imperious finger at Nejii and the spheres of the zodiac glow brightly as the
terrible blackness between the stars grows, an ominous shadow falling across the
ground.

The darkness in the skies grows ominously large, blotting out the stars as it
approaches.

The darkness in the sky bursts into fire as the meteor descends through the
atmosphere, hurtling towards you. It crashes into the ground at Nejii's feet and
explodes in an enveloping holocaust of fire and destructive magic, annihilating
everything in its path with the unbridled power of celestial bodies colliding.
Burning shards of liquid rock pierce through Gregori's body.

A ritual zodiac circle drawn in salt is blown away by the wind, dispersing into
the air.

Doesn't include the sphere casting, and the part where Gregori gets hit is the splash damage on personal enemies thing. I also didn't get to see the death message.

I don't understand the starleaper change. That completely killed the ability. Five minute cooldown for flinging a card? Considering that tarot is probably one of the more balanced skillsets, it seems unnecessary. Fix world!

You should have seen the ridiculous nerf that the original request asked for. blackeye.gif
Celina2008-05-07 02:22:35
How much damage does that meteor thing do?

And that was the fastest nerf I've ever seen. I hear rumors that Geb was spazzing on the envoy channel.

The NightAltar was nerfed much more rapidly.
Furien2008-05-07 02:25:54
We're seeing things at 1k to 3k to instakill, depending on how many negative spheres the target has. Whee.
Kielo2008-05-07 02:28:58
My inner grammar Nazi is telling me that the message for when an astrologer draws a circle should say in instead of on.

But yeah, it's totally awesome and makes me wish I had something cool. sad.gif

That meteor skill does look kick-ass. Reminds me of FF for some reason.

Geb cares about balance.

Edited a bit, but glad they realized the potential for Slitthroat.... does that mean the slot was completly wasted though? If so, will someone please add shields to be placed in frogges or shield holders, the change to grip well over a year or so ago has made warriors that used to use shields obsolete. (You have to relax grip to unwield a shield, if you could sheathe sheild it would make it so a warrior can still choose a fighting style without losing balance/eq to relax grip and regrip any time they needed to use a shield)

Anyone retest starleaper to see how long it is now?

You do know if Geb didn't spaz on envoys... (which I don't think he did, it was more of a group of people saying on envoys that the changes were not what they requested and would be deemed too OP or useless) he is going to see you say that and respond to you right?? shocked.gif

clap_1.gif Hooray for Astrology getting a cool skill!

Can anybody post what the other new skills do?
Shamarah2008-05-07 02:36:02
Starleaper appears to be randomized. Someone else will have to test it more extensively.

NEKOTAI - SCORPIONBLOOD

While you are holding venom in your mouth to spit, its presence in your
body will allow the poison shrugging effects of Resilience to be more
effective.

Noice.

Is it more resiliant to the venom you are holding or to all venoms in general?

I'm not exactly scared of Geb. Nor do I care if he spazzed or not. It's just what I heard. I'd certainly spaz if I thought something was way OP.

Starleaper idea was originally to drop on offensive action, another idea was that it cooldown. Cooldown was selected.. and the new astro skills...

CODE
ASTROLOGY - METEOR

Syntax: ASTROCAST METEOR AT
        DRAW ZODIAC IN
Damage Type: 50% Fire, 50% Magical
Damage Source: Magic

Those who study the stars are acutely aware that the celestial bodies in
the heavens are many, and that the planets are but the largest. While
the stars answer the call of none, it is possible - though difficult -
to summon down a meteor from the heavens.

In order to do this, one must first draw a zodiac circle in either salt
or blood upon the ground in a place with a clear view of the heavens.
Though any who study Astrology may draw such a circle, only those with
mastery of the meteor know its grim purpose. Once done, you may call the
fury of the stars upon any transgressor who is affected by a negative
zodiac sphere. The full force of the meteor will depend upon how many
negative zodiac spheres by which the transgressor is affected. The
summoning will consume all of the negative zodiac spheres in the
process. A deadly meteor, if empowered by the zodiac energies of six or
more negative spheres, will spell almost certain doom.

Additionally, a lesser amount of damage may be done to your personal
enemies who stand too close to the focal point of the summoning.

Much what it sounds like.

CODE
ASTROLOGY - METEORMAJORUS

Syntax: ASTROCAST METEOR AT MAJORUS
Power: 10 (Any)
Damage Type: 50% Fire, 50% Magical
Damage Source: Magic

The full fury of the stars are unleashed by the master Astrologist, who
may call down the meteor majorus in the same manner as the minorus.
However, unlike its lesser version, the majorus shall deal equal damage
to your personal enemies as it shall to the focal target of the
summoning. The full fury of the meteor depends upon the number of
negative zodiac spheres affecting each target. Unlike the splash damage
of the minorus, this shall consume each of the negative spheres upon
your personal enemies that are hit by the meteor and convert their
zodiac energy into raw destructive fury.

Same as normal meteor but makes it basically check each person for spheres and do damage thusly.

Yay for room skill.

This was proposed as an insta, but I have never been so happy to have the idea changed ^___^
