for what it's worth, I went from
Went from 6 minorseconds per kephera worker to 9
Went from 8 minorseconds per kephera warrior to 12
There -are- many buffs to cha and int, but they're all weighted. Bardicpresence got me from 8 to 10. Beauty to 11 (that also means I lose about 1k health on a life blessing). I don't think a throne will get me to 12. And at these rates, I don't think highmagic, if I had it, would get me to 13. It's not as if illithoid was a -very- popular bard race anyway. I wish I knew about this before the racial change instead of after.

TF, Netzach, Throne, and karma beauty get me to 20 charisma as a faeling.

Herofete and bardicpresence would do even better.

A throne will get you to 12. But no, netzach would not get you to 13. And you are not getting a bonus of 1k health from Life.

Why not just put up both blessings? Keeping two up is not all that hard, though three is pushing things.

bard combat and bashing has become really harder. From the speed to this damage formula change, it feels like im bashing as an aquamancer again right now.. slow and weak

Im tempted to go monk just for the bashing and just shift again when i get titan or something.. Time is more valuable than these credits im gonna be losing..

3 blessings are easy to maintain too. As long as you bash when you choose to have 3 up and not chitchat. Also staggering the time of the blessings (ie. like 3-4 hours between each blessing when you get it) makes it even easier.

I could bash nothing but sewer eels and keep up 3 blessings.

And don't try and claim aquamancer bashing is weak.... sorry, no one is going to buy that the race with some of the highest intelligence out there, that can stack enough int based boosts, which never ever ever misses is slow and weak. Just ain't gonna cut it.

If you said bashing with cosmicfire, then yeah I woulda been inclined to believe that more.

It's kinda funny, actually. Way back when, mage was considered one of the best bashing choices. Then everyone else got better.

Except Druids

Monk bashing really needs a nerf. It's retarded at the moment, there's nothing else to it.

Druids and mages were considered comparable in bashing. Cudgel and staff have the same mob damage formula, but mages were a little tankier. Then mages got psionics and got tankier, and guardians got symbol, which I'm told is the same mob damage formula as cudgel and staff, and they've always been tankier. Ecology is a good choice for a basher, with extra tankiness and influence options, but it's atrociously horrible in PvP.

EDIT: Summary for those that can't/won't read: no one has slow and weak bashing, most people use the exact same attack with a difference only in tankiness, which is manageable, so stop crying.

heh.. everything is comparative.. you can try and explain things.. but words are poor substitute for experience. I spent a considerable amount of time bashing as an aquamancer. There was a time when i was bashing 4-5hours a day.. and let me tell you compared to aquamancer bashing, pre-nerf - my cantor bashing was so good, i was asking myself why i didnt switch earlier..

And what do i care about cosmic fire/cudgel, I was never a guardian/druid.. I am comparing my experience between cantor and aquamancer bashing. Two things which i have deep experience in and can talk about. So now, having stated this, I am saying -- bard bashing has become weaker.. it feels like aquamancer bashing pre-nerf.. and it is slow and weak..

now if cfire/cudgel sucks more, then these class has problems too.. which has nothing to do with what im experiencing right now btw..

Pre-nerfs, cantor was almost as good as monk bashing.. now its not.. and im thinking of going monk just so i can circle up faster.



The question was whether the change was a nerf or a boost.. if it now needs three blessings to reach the previous damage output, then this is a nerf.

The karmic blessings are just listed as possible things to attain to help manage even more damage alongside of the other things liek BardicPresence and thrones. I don't think it's a nerf since it actually gives bards even more reason to hoard charisma.

Something funny is going on here!

I don't know if it's Ghost that's funny (such as being able to escape PerfectFifth in it which I don't know if it's a bug or not) or just Demigod Brood Viscanti's with that level two magic resistance and God knows what other things (favours, etc.) Thoros had on him. Sitting and tanking 13 Violets and 11 Kethers in a row without even dropping into the red is funky. :|

It's the domoth blessings that are OP.

I'm not sure the domoth blessings upped it from like 4-6 (fairly reasonable) to 4-6 times that number.

Life for more constitution + life for more DMP against damage + chaos for +3 on con (at that time) + chaos health regen, really adds up. + I had avatar aura up which heals me for almost 900 a tic, at that to my regeneration which is about 1700 passively and you have one tanky ghost.
