Is it just me or does anyone else think its total bs. To put out skills no one knows the cures to during an event.

Except the inquisition change was unnecessary, even voted unnecessary by 99% of the envoys and it was implemented anyways.
We know that, but so were the other changes. Even if Crucify, say, was in need of an upgrade, it was -not- in need of an upgrade because mugwumps were able to use it before and no one else was, like the blind change, which is what these changes were allowed to compensate for. It was just a random greed move.

It's just "more".... I mean "you".

But, yes, I agree.

I don't think they got any new afflictions. Your system should still recognize afflictions and cure them when you DIAG.
Xiel2008-06-22 02:46:25
No new afflictions were introduced, just new ways to deal them.
Lendren2008-06-22 02:47:11
The timing is entirely a coincidence; this has been in the works for a while now and just happened to be done now.
There's one thing that's kind of like a new affliction but doesn't do anything to you -- it's just setting up other stuff. Otherwise, no new afflictions.
As soon as I can spare the time I'll post the trigger lines on the forum. I'd've done it right away except I didn't really know it was coming out now, didn't know there'd be an event at the same time, and never really thought about that people might think that way about the coincidence! But I was going to post them anyway.

Am I missing something big here, or did you build yourself a whole winter-centric skillset and not include a way to cause chills? I ask mostly because of a comment made on the ecology report.
Shiri2008-06-22 04:31:05
Didn't they already have a way to cause chills? (Although I don't know how they expect to get anything done with a 10 second tick cured by purgative balance, which nothing else they care about is on and which is only 1 second, and which has to go through fire first...but then I haven't seen the update.)
Xavius2008-06-22 04:38:05
I don't see it, and it looks like the envoys' skillset has been updated with the report as-implemented. They have the instafreeze soulless knockoff, but...yeah, not seeing chills anywhere.
Furien2008-06-22 04:49:17
They've got two ways of causing chills now, I think, but the skillset isn't winter-centric. It's actually..really, really flexible, for a bard spec. I like it.
Revan2008-06-22 05:03:19
Hmm... looks like you guys got a summon skill again

Xiel2008-06-22 05:04:24
The original plan was to go with a cold focus for the skillset, but the admin got to talking to us about focusing around more of the spirit thing than was planned. I couldn't tell if whether or not the passive cold we had was going to be kept, and so I couldn't get to put what I thought about that skill in Ecology. I assumed we were though, but these are very pleasant changes though I do apologize that the cold thing went out the window. Should probably get that tweaked in the report though.
Edit: @Revan: We do, but it needs a little tweak first before it can be used properly. Easily fixed though, hopefully.

The winter-centric skills got kicked aside for a better focus and to finally incorporate the ancestor spirit RP into Wildarrane.

A lust variant that requires being in the room and thus being at risk, sadly.
EDIT: But it's a start!

Are you sure? I closed the window for an hour to clear my mind, went back to it, and still don't see anything except the instafreeze.
Furien2008-06-22 06:01:20
It may have been instafreeze, but I'm pretty sure. One of them comes with a decent stun time, too, which probably opens the instakill window. (Though I was never told or shown the instakill itself, just had Xiel beat on me for awhile.)

It would explain things more if they were part of Magnadoring. See: Soulforge, Broadcasting Centre, Raziela, Aestra (please don't tell me this wasn't biased), Crazen (refer to Aestra), Asylum. I'm sure I missed a few too.
Another soulless got loose? When did this happen?

He's not loose, he's still stuck. Kryden Valik or whatever it's called.
Unknown2008-06-22 06:47:42
The announce post should be more specific that it's Crazen stuck in the wall and not just a bunch of aslarans being creepy.
Shiri2008-06-22 06:50:53
I think you have to do the evil-side quest to find out about it. I only remember something vaguely like that from CT.
