Wild Elfen, 18 Int, 19 Cha (from BardicPresence). Not Trans, but I don't think that's of much importance (Trans people have complained in-game too). My usual damage (bonded) is 1300k, now it's been downsized to 900. A Trill friend who used to do 800, still does 800 though. Reminds me of early DMP, making the stronger weaker and the weaker equally as weak.

EDIT: Just so we're clear, I couldn't care less about MinorSecond's damage in PvP, but -bashing- is now practically impossible. I'm weaker than I was back when I had a 0-aptitude instrument...

Well, Charune explained in another thread how it works. Basically it was overcompesnating for int and cha bonuses, so if you had really high int and cha, you're going to get hit much harder than someone closer to the 12 average, who probably won't notice.

900 isn't that bad. :/ Congratulations, you're now on par with other casters in bashing, but faster.

It's still bad, everyone is just equally bad, other than warriors.

And I guess still monks.

I did NOT play the darned violin to exhaustion to be able to bond to it, only to be able to do 900 damage. Seriously. I know I've probably been spoiled by the high damage, but this is just yucky.

Nerfing your bashing damage along with combat damage might not have been intended.

It is sort of funny seeing some new people react to how crappy PvE is for about 40% of the playerbase.

I just like to be optimistic. I could go insane otherwise with all the bashing I do.

Kind of sad that minorsecond's taken a hit, especially in regards to pvp. Not all of us are easy mode bards, damn it.

Meh, I never used minorsecond in harbinger pvp much, it's all in the fun barbs/minorsixth. Shadowsinger faeling bards are now pretty awful as bashers go now I think, less damage, still as squishy (and no illusoryself doesn't count, at 5p at pop)

Has anyone tried BUGging it? Not the PvP damage, but the PvE.

I'm not certain what good bugging is going to do as it is intentionally nerfing bard damage.

PvP damage was meant to be nerfed/"fixed", there is no doubt about it. However, it may be that PvE damage got an unintended nerf because of the "fix".

It is, quite faster.

Then I wouldn't really complain about the PvP damage too much. Previously, minorsecond would beat other caster damages even without a shorter eq.

They just need to revert bard bashing damage (with the same speed) back to the way it was.

Then give all other casters the same for bashing.

Is it too much to ask?

EDIT: The 'other caster' formula will need to be slightly different, to compensate for the fact that buffing your intelligence isn't nearly as easy as buffing your charisma, nor are there as many ways to do it.

Yeah, like I said, PvP really isn't the problem. Bard PvP shouldn't be about MinorSecond's damage-kill potential anyway, it should be (and is) about barbs/vice and stuff, now more than before. But PvE needs a strong MinorSecond! It craaaaves it! The creatures just love being nuked by a sweet sound that makes blood trickle from their ears, I'm sure of it.

Turns out there was in place a reduction to compensate for the other problems that were fixed. It should be a lot better now. It won't be as good as it was previously, but it should be closer to what existed before. Keep in mind, bard bashing damage does less than other classes, but it also faster.
