You won't notice any difference if you bash with groups of 4 or under. However, the more people that are grouped, the tougher the beasts will get. We did this because it was way too easy to bash on astral with large groups--it was like turning on an experience/essence faucet (and those who did it know that's true!). Now there's a bit more risk for the reward.

That said, the upper levels may have gotten a little too tough, so I may tweak that a little more before wild nodes.

I strongly don't recommend it. Making it easier for large groups again is just asking for it to happen again but with only tankier people (which is if anything worse than when the xp tap is open to everyone.)

The wildnodes concern can probably be fixed another way, like gimping the mobs that spawn during that time.

It needs to be toned down alot on the upper end. Here's proof:

A brief test reveals that 5 demigods can tank it ok, 6 demigods can tank it with a bit of trouble, 7 demigods gets Thoros clowning around on the sphere and eating the titan before the rest of us fly to safety.

So I'm going to try and throw out a better suggestion for astral.

I'm thinking a buff in health for the astral mob depending on the group size and a small buff in damage. It makes it so that you can't kill so many astral beasts in such a quick time. It isn't like goats gave more exprience with more people. The reason ur'bashing was so good is because you could waste a lot of goats in such a short amount of time. More health is going to slow down just how fast you can kill a mob without making it impossible to kill.

Either way Astral group bashing should be about equal to group bashing in other places. It shouldn't be made impossible.

Edit: And in my defense if this is a horrible or broken idea then I'll gladly admit I'm not 100% positive just how xp is broken up in groups. I'm going on the knowledge that it doesn't get higher with bigger groups.

Astral group bashing -is- about equal to group bashing in other places. You don't generally bash with more than four people anywhere else because it'd be pointless: the mobs die too fast and respawn too slow (and you have to walk around a lot) for it to be worth doing that rather than just splitting up. It's just not possible with groups that are like 7+ strong.

Staff is a 4 second equilibrium, plause my pause before hand. That means my 5k health and esano's 4.4k health gone in 6 seconds?

I believe steam is part asphyxiation as well. The teeth didn't hurt much from a mob I linked with nine people on the sphere, but the steam was always 900+. The balance attack also does more damage, probably partial no_block or something.

Goats are pretty ridiculous, virgins even with seven people were not doing a lot of damage.

This reminds me of the last Astral change when insanity was introduced and mobs became a lot harder, only now they're much harder. Faster, stronger, more health, etc. It's a good change though, Astral should be hard! I think the only problem will be Wildnodes.
