Well I'm not sure about that. I sap locked all sorts of folks without stagstomp and using 0 crow skills. No one with high end curing, but a solid 80% of lusternia's combatants die to sap really easily.
Ground sap would be killer in groups, which is all that really matters anyways.

We're aware that some people believe that the admin are manipulated by maneuvering among envoys (i.e., envoy wars), but we still stand by our decisions this month. That said, we will be more sensitive to reports that target guilds that aren't their own (as we've told the envoys). Attempting to go behind the backs of envoys to try and get us to change our mind, however, is not really the right way to try and change a report's decision.

While we're at it, heh. This is just the buffer I saved, 19 times before I was raised. Have fun timing treelife ticks.
Groundsap, single target guaranteed raise cudgel ideas go.
P.S. Size 25 with malkuth/rock, but I don't think rock was working given nonmountain terrain.
Xiel2009-09-13 06:26:36
Really? 19 raises to get one off with each cudgel raise at least at 3.5s or more? How do they expect druids to get a reliable tree-level movement outside of treelife one on one between now and the next envoy report which won't come until mid-November where it MIGHT get accepted for a report to undo this, precisely? 1 in 19 attempts to successfully raise cudgel for the saplock is fairly, yes, ridiculous.
Furien2009-09-13 06:27:34
Sapping based off of treelife alone was never a problem with me, to be honest. Just requires more preparation.
Desitrus2009-09-13 06:27:52
Should probably all get together and nerf cheddar-biscuits from Red Lobster. Nothing on their menu is worth the price, yet the cheddar-biscuits keep drawing you in. This discussion reminds me of the one about returning corpses and if you do it they will. Except a certain group never did and then it devolved and the first side was told they should continue to be the better men. Then, Eddie came by and was like "Can't find a better maaaaaaaaan."
Sometimes, the problem is people are playing the victim, the martyr, and/or the politician. Sometimes you get a gift like after pointing it out they mistell it to envoys, but not always.
Solutions? Checks and balances, probably. One should stick to buffing their own skills, or for a nerf it should require someone from the same org signing off on it. Let's say you want a Shadowdancer nerf to something blatantly overpowered and Shadowdancer envoy isn't being cooperative, so you go to one of the other glom envoys who is more level-headed and they agree. Nerf is posted as a suggestion and comments are taken. Of course, once again, some orgs might (would) close ranks on you, but at least you can point that out and their bias can be evaluated on a more specific basis.
Might as well point out that certain people are just puppets for banned envoys but that's a whole other bag of cookies.

Time your demesne, use treelife, maybe raise cudgel the non-demis out there.
A big ol' raise cudgel reset would be cool, though. Put the stun back where it used to be and make it work consistently again.

I agree with Desitrus, a system of checks and balances on top of the current system right now would probably help alleviate the war on both sides.
I think it'd be better if each guild was just responsible for their own skills only, but as in Desitrus' example, if an OP skill just isn't being addressed by x guild, the envoys can bring it up and take a vote or something to decide when they can go outside their 'scope'.

I think Xavius completely missed my outside treelife commentary somewhere. Besides that, cudgel can't be used reliably any more on a one on one fight and seize has no malus unless we want to make it so that seizing someone would actually be worth using now.

Damn what happened to the awesome envoy crew when the channel was formed in order to get to this point? All this hate.

Hey, group sap is good if they're going to keep the summon resistance for raise cudgel.
EDIT: Also, I foresee juicy posts in the future. Will camp this thread.

Desitrus2009-09-13 06:52:47
Shuyin is correct. My system of checks and balances was that you only envoy your own things unless you have the approval of one of the affected org's envoys or can sufficiently prove that they are closing ranks without listening to reason or even entertaining suggestions. At that point the admins have specific points of reference to look at. It will take some administrative overhead but one or two instances of concrete back-turning can lead to passing envoy slots to more impartial people with balance in mind.

Who said I wasn't? My beef was the active tree-level movement being gimped and now having to wait for a passive thing which only tics every 10s if their protection is down.
Desitrus2009-09-13 07:00:00
I believe the thing they are talking about Xavius is that with the raise cudgel nerf and treelife now being on protection scroll there is no dependable way of getting people into the trees without stripping protection and waiting (not a fantastic option), piled onto the size issues and such.
Charune2009-09-13 09:08:08
For so late at night, this discussion is much too lively.
We're standing by our decisions.
As I told the envoys earlier, if the raise cudgel change was too much then it can be re-evaluated. I don't see any issue with a single other change made, however.

I'd like to throw this out there:
The only example given about raise cudgel vs. summoning resistance was with a demigod who has malkuth, rock totem, and size 25. The problem isn't that raise cudgel doesn't work well against them - the problem is that no ability that checks summoning resistance does. Currents, Whirlpool, Beckon, Rad, Chaindrag, Gust, etc. would all equally fail over and over as well, which is silly and "unfair."
The answer is to fix summoning resistance. It stands to reason that size is offering way too much for no real penalty. I'm still not sure why size even impacts summoning resistance. It already gives a health boost and strength (at the cost of dexterity).

I may be out of the loop, but at size 25, aren't they a sucker for entanglement?
