I just think that champion artifacts should go, or greatly reduced in effectiveness in combat but has more unique utilities like RESCUE. So they carry a symbolic meaning rather than a huge advantage in combat.

I agree, although I'd like to keep them more as customised artifacts and pets with no combat bonuses just for the look of them. I don't mind the warrior helms to much but most of the champion pets are grossly overpowered it isnt even funny.
Torak2006-05-23 09:36:09
All the champion artifacts are too powerful, but I would love for them to stay with 0 effect other then rescue.
EDIT: Also good changes!
Estarra2006-05-23 15:27:34
Does anyone remember the relentless pounding players gave the administration over the weakness of the champion artifacts?

I still recall the emails, the messages, the envoys reports from mages complaining that the staffs had a neglible boost and from warriors complaining that the helms weren't buff enough.

I know. sleep.gif

I was really happy when my helm was upgraded, but i also think that champions artifacts/pets arent needed.
But if we take them away then there wont be any benefits of beaing champion and risk your life for your guildmates.
And those artifacts are really cool factor, so arties should remain but boost to combat should be changed on some boost to utility skills of champs.
Maybe those arties could work as Gem of Claking and this arti that notify you when enemy enters/leaves local area? Or some other nifty abbilities but not boosts to damage/wounds/aeon/blackout.

The biggest problem (and yes i was a big advocate of making champ helms better) was that guardians got these AWESOME pets, i mean passive blackout and on others passive aeon, were insane and for the most part warriors were missing out.

I would've been happy with the handmaiden grim and patchou being downgraded, so would a lot of others but after so many tried to get them killed off being unsuccessful i thought it be best to just get warrior helms upgraded too.

You forgot to mention the little known Black Shuck on the list.

Anywho, I like the fact that all the champions have something unquie and powerful about them. I would be dissapointed if that got removed, or changed into just a flashy placeholder.

Magic Damage? WOOT! Finally a reason to be a furrikin Moony besides pissing off Narsrim.

I'm sure if a Nihilist went up against you they would cosmic fire against you, which you are lvl 1 weak to, rather then symbol you, which you are lvl 3 resistant + additional wiccan resistant to. They didn't lose cosmic fire when they gained symbols, they just have 2 damage attack choises now.

The problem is that fae aren't that terribly great of an offense. Pixie, banshee, crone, and brownie are the only overtly offensive fae we have.

You forgot the Barghest, Redcap and Slaugh..

Oh, wait pureevil.gif

ps. I really can't wait to see if the Boggart works out or not, I'd really like to see one. Even if I suck at suggesting things it can do biggrin.gif I also support giving leprechauns small knives to slash people in the shins with tongue.gif
Unknown2006-05-23 17:15:28
For the Willowisp replacement fae?

I actually heard some nifty ideas regaurding that, and no they didn't include things from Harry Potter. I am waiting to see what pops up though.

Lvl 1 weak to, but I can sip frost and proof a cloak, plus it being relatively weak to start with.
Unknown2006-05-23 20:57:45
Yeah, but Cosmic Fire has always been that way, so, that's not really a development changed by Symbols tongue.gif

I never complained about the need for any of them to be upgraded. Actually, I was one of the firsts to state that the artifacts should only give the rescue ability. Let the champions be champions because of their willingness to protect others and their own innate combat ability.

How about mini-clones of Tully who automatically clean you.

Okay, maybe not.
Unknown2006-05-24 00:27:04
From what I've heard so far, symbol damage in PvP is nowhere NEAR staff damage. One person told me it was even less than cosmicfire, though the afflicts and bashing damage are more than enough to make me happy anyway.

Question.

Symbol works on mobs? Yes, no?

How does this affect Serenwilde's enemy-upon-seeing-cosmic-being-on-etherwilde policy? Are these skills like Yesod and Invisibility, meaning 3rdeye can see them? If it isn't, then the anyone with the skill could take their companion onto ethereal, and not get caught. unsure.gif Explain!
Sylphas2006-05-24 17:43:31
More then likely just like Faecloak. Totally invisible unless they take an action. So you can sneak around, but if you use it, someone can see.
