'cause Magnagora needed more reason to have Faeling TK Mages in the Geomancers.
Man, our analog should have given us citywide balestone or something equally ridiculous. It'd be nerfed to hell, naturally, but we'd still partake in something awesome, if only briefly.

Nah. I'll go on a rampage if this is used as a reason to not give researchers flight. Because that is stupid. Because we're in the flying city, in which we make crystals fly, and we harvest flying crystals to fix Continuum. So it makes no sense to not have flight.
And what is up with the Hallifax constructs protecting us from ourselves? Electric resistance?

Same orgs/classes in Lusternia tend to be stronger against themselves than others, just sayin'

The sip level is the important bit, I just mentioned the DMP because they synergize for bashing. Mag also doesn't have Drawdown, which stats kicking in the diminishing returns faster than a lot of other places.
So you're point is that you're somewhat discontent in benefiting less because communes are stronger to start with? Translation: Thanks for giving communes huge universal DMP for the past 5 years.

I think everyone should be happy that they are rather "tame" given how much outliers are complained about. Not you Sylphas, just overall.

Yes, but aeromancers have the reason for that flying city bit. I'm still disappointed that there was not some ability to construct devices using the spires to such ends.

The fact that the one guild who has flight as a requirement for their planar power quest does not have flight is just painful.
And orgs being strong against itself doesn't change the fact that our two "superconstructs" protect us primarily from Researchers and Aeromancers, while everyone else, except the Gaudiguch candle, get awesome stuff.
At least the 5DMP is neat though.

Pretty much.
I'll be happy with 'tame' when we actually get the same dose of 'crazy' and 'awesome' the other orgs get. New doesn't mean you should be left out of the arms race. :/

From where I stand, 'old' is really left out of the arms race. Try being a BC warrior for a day or two. ![tongue.gif](style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif)
And, fire damage isn't just for Pyromancers. Lots of people deal fire damage, including me.

Illuminati can get Transformation/Fire gauntlets augmented with it, too. Crush will probably be bad either way, just less so!

"Cloud of logic" should totally be changed to "brainstorm".

The enigmaticpyramid actually seems rather decent. Not excellent like the font mind you, but free Chaotesign and the ability to buy a butterfly in advance are both nifty abilities.

Same here...I don't think constructs need to give really awesome stuff, but how is a level 1 electricity resistance justified against a level 1 sip bonus.
![sad.gif](style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif)
How is a one time (four minute) eq/bal bonus, resistance to aeon (ourselves), and a flavor aging skill justified against all the crazy stuff font/crypt/altars give.

These new constructs are kind of... meh (not that I don't appreciate the hard work put into coding them)! I thought the non-planar defense ones would provide some really cool buffs for Halli but I look at them and get disappointed. I remember having the Night Altar and having it gives some really nice things... extra shadow gathering (which is useful and helpful for SDs), everyone in the commune being able to penumbra (and other sweet coven abilities) and get bonus xp from covensquads, level 2 regen at night, getting garb for DMP, and +1 dex.
Compared to that we get increased mindclock (which isn't awful), level 1 eq/balance bonus for 4 minutes out of every 60 minutes, and everyone gets to cast aging (when was the last time anyone was like "man, it is so inconvenient to find a researcher in Hallifax?" when usually 80% of the people online in Halli at any given time are researchers?).
Our other option is getting the ability to fly (which all Aeromancers and trill already have and which the Institute should have as a skill but doesn't for some mind boggling reason), level 1 electric protection (which both Halli races already have to some degree and most electric damage comes from Aeros, unless you count some artie warriors or one demesne effect), obscuring exits once a day (which aeromancers can already do in a demesne and which I don't find very awesome compared to the Night Altar effects), and 5 DMP (which I would trade for nearly any combination of benefits from Night Altar.
So... could we get a bit of a buff, please?

The redeeming thing about the cloud is that now I can always picture myself doing this

Actually that picture gave me an idea. In addition to the half-bal suggestion by Sham, maybe allow it to carry your entourage too?
Also what's "brute" damage? I assume it's cutting/blunt, which would make it a useless effect for researchers =(

Enigmatic Pyramid only really has the free Chaotesign going for it. The prepared Butterfly, while definitely an improvement, is still not very desirable as Butterfly can backfire on the caster.
The rest of the effects are meh as well. Illusion detection? Insanity decreased? Small chance (as if the Illuminati or Templars needed more chance-based effects) for more temporary insanity?
And then, the construct is the only one which requires twenty power to gain access to all of its abilities.
And the Candle is lackluster too, even compared to the rest. Setting a room ablaze once a RL day, which I assume that hurts the caster just as much as anyone else in the room? Increase fire damage? Nice for Pyromancers, I can't think of any significant use for the other classes. Fire resistance and 5 dmp are about the only reasonable parts, and everyone gets 5 dmp.

I think "brute" is different than cutting and blunt, and is partially based on size.
Kiradawea2011-01-24 16:33:19
Yeah, butterfly can backfire, or it can maggot someone. Being able to have it prepared though is far better than being able to timechant ageing for yourself.
Cloud and Candle are still terribad though.
And Brute damage is damage influenced by strength.
