Anything that changes your racial BASE statistics will be affected by the change.

Yes, Ixion, I did realise that. I meant, up until +5. Still, I doubt you can get +7 charisma, so my question is still valid. What charisma buffs did you have? If, say, you were +3 to Cha (after buff), and then took a defence that used to +2, you should still have finished at +4.

I still don't get what this stat change means, does it affect racial boosts to?

no

it's like this.

Buff/stat increase
+1 = +1

+2 = +2
+3 = +2

+4 = +3
+5 = +3

+6 = +4
+7 = +4

+8 = +5
>8 = +5

Actually I think they have a typo on thier help file, 5 is listed twice

No, races are left untouched.

The change is that before, if you had netzach (+1 cha), beauty blessing (+2 cha) and a throne (+2), you'd have +5 cha. Now, the 5 falls in the 4-5 range that gives the +3 of the stat, so instead of +5 cha, you'd get +3. If that made any sense wacko.gif
Unknown2006-06-16 23:11:17
That's just craziness, why not just give all of them a +1?
Sylphas2006-06-16 23:12:42
I could have sworn I heard they'd do envoys, then have a special warrior meeting again at the end. I must be going crazy.

Really, though, if you needed +7 stats to be decent, nerfing stat buffs isn't your problem in the least. It's the fact that you needed that many buffs. Our realm has had crazy stat boosts since the beginning, compared to any of the others.
Acrune2006-06-16 23:13:13
Because that's what we've been having, and it made everyone too strong tongue.gif

Agreed.

They were going to hold a second summit to see what problems didn't get fixed.

Which they already did.

And which didn't really get anywhere, since there are a LOT of concerns. sad.gif
Sylphas2006-06-16 23:21:40
Oh, must have missed hearing about that. They should do a third, especially with this.
Ixion2006-06-16 23:31:05
Over +7 cha/int isn't too hard to get with a little luck and a little work.

Before throne, 15.

After throne, 17.

After throne and buff nerf, 15

Throne = useless now. Thanks.
=============================
Actually, it's worse than I first noticed.

Semi buffed: 15.

Add Netzach, still 15,
Add throne, still 15.

YAY....
=============================
Here's proof.

Ur'Commander Kalas Ixion, Blue Inferno
Strength : xx Dexterity : xx Constitution : xx
Intelligence : xx Size : xx Charisma : 15

Then.

Muttering the secret names of Netzach, you trace the glowing symbol of a rose
before you. You smile as the rose floats towards you and enters your chest,
making your personality sparkle.

Ur'Commander Kalas Ixion, Blue Inferno
Strength : xx Dexterity : xx Constitution : xx
Intelligence : xx Size : xx Charisma : 15

walking etc etc

Then.

You sit upon your throne, and your heart beats faster as a feeling of
transcendent superiority floods through your being.
6138h, 4695m, 5504e, 10p elrk<>- (M+ 75)
Ur'Commander Kalas Ixion, Blue Inferno
Strength : 19 Dexterity : 15 Constitution : 17
Intelligence : 13 Size : 13 Charisma : 15

Yay x 2.
Soll2006-06-16 23:33:25
That seems like a bug, if you ask me.. Atleast, it's not conforming to the pattern it should, unless you're already at +5 charisma. Which I doubt.
Unknown2006-06-16 23:34:32
Don't forget to mention that lich is more of a problem now than anything. The highest strength a warrior can have now is 20, in lich form and that is only at night. Did the stat decrease get nerfed to or is it still point for point? If it is point for point in decrease, way to shaft the necro users.

EDIT: Warriors needed strength for wounding. Let's break it down for everyone.

Flex = +1
Geburah = +1
Lich (Night) = +2
Fortuna (If lucky) +1

+5 falls under +3 total through the changes. I never get lucky with Fortuna and I only see lich as a hinderance.

We were hit harder than anyone else with this change. We need strength for what little damage we can do nowadays and wounding.

Edit:You edited ixion tongue.gif

Anywho, I have to agree with Soll, it's a bug.

ooh... unless human evolution is acting oddly...
Xavius2006-06-17 00:23:26
I don't think humans ever get charisma points in evolution. He should be able to hit 17, not 15. The bigger question is what buffs gave him 15 that quickly.

Actually, no. It doesn't matter. +3 is always at least +1 to a stat, if not +2.

Something's screwy here!
Ildaudid2006-06-17 00:43:13
All I can say is this saddens me greatly, as Ixion said they are slowly driving away warriors from this game. I feel lke a battered wife, hoping and praying for love but only recieving a punch in the face at the end of the day sad.gif
Unknown2006-06-17 00:55:15
Im pretty sure +3 buffs is always +2 to the stat. At least, thats what I got out of it. It does make that third + useless if you have no way of getting another +, though. And will this correlate to stat penalties as well? Like, -1 = -1, -2 or -3 = -2, and so on? There are a few things that reduce stats out there somewhere, assuredly.

ps: I know this is technically a change for 'buffs' which would obviously exclude the negative side. But never hurts to ask.
Ildaudid2006-06-17 00:57:09
I don't know about the stat negative side. Anyone with a TDF that can say that they made TDF's weaker too?
Unknown2006-06-17 01:19:23
I think Taurian Enrage should be immune *sagenod* its a racial ability, after all.

Though, as it seems, the blow seems to be -1 strength overall no matter how you cut it.

I mean, it could be worse.

Maybe tae'dae will actually be good now with their ability to reach 20 strength, compared to all the other now weaker races? tongue.gif
Vix2006-06-17 01:19:55
Negatives should work like positive buffs in that it subtracts from the total weight. So there is -some- purpose to bonding bear for warriors. If someone hits you with enfeeble you'll still retain your +2 strength.

That's a good point. Warriors now have a defence against Enfeeble, in a way. (though, for city warriors it costs power)
