How does tumbling avoid inquisition?
![huh.gif](style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif)
Since, you know, it doesn't require you to stay in the room it was started in.
Erm, I'll stop talking now

Heh, you are just thinking of what comes AFTER the inquisition: That being Soulless.

ANNOUNCE NEWS #594
Date: 7/8/2006 at 0:01
From: Estarra, the Eternal
To : Everyone
Subj: Envoy Updates
We are trying out a new system of envoy reports wherein the envoys give
us monthly mini-reports on the top combat balance issues. This does not
replace the big updates that we do a couple of times a year, but rather
is meant to allow us the opportunity to redress the major balance that
the envoys have pointed out. Here is the first batch of updates that
your envoys have selected.
+Shadowdance Flight can no longer be used while off equilibrium.
+Shadowdance Flight and tumble cannot be done while impaled or
crucified.
+Racial effects for tumbling, both positive and negative, have been
slightly reduced.
+The ability to invest powers in demons and angels is now queued so the
entities will cause afflictions in the order invested.
+Necromancy Leech and Night Succumb drain mana with less reliance on
percentage of mana. Also, Night Succumb has a minimum amount of mana
that it drains regardless of the skill level the target has in Magic.
+Night Summon Cauldron takes less time.
+Sprint-type skills use the "don't be hasty" walking balance instead of
normal balance.
+The Allhex ability has been removed and Hexaura ability moved to
Transcendent. You can now use whammy and doublewhammy with hexes within
your aura. Hexes should also follow you if you change elevation.
+A new crow skill has been added that allows movement of one's nest.
+You can now burrow upwards in dreamform. (This wasn't part of the mini
report; rather, it is the solution to prevent a bug that some innovative
dreamweaver discovered.)
There may be one or two more mini report changes coming but this
represents the bulk of them. Note that this does not cover some major
warrior changes that will also be done that was a result of the special
warrior summit that Roark conducted.

I like it.

Hexes will be crazy now. They removed their only disadvantage.
I hope Succumb is less crazy now, and I like the sprinting change.

Sadly, the sprinting change does not currently take into account bonuses one has to the number of rooms they can move before getting the "don't be hasty!" messages. I really hope this is an oversight/bug and not intentional

The Sprint and Hexes changes were good, however my favorite is the queue'd angel and demon abilities.
Unknown2006-07-08 00:27:35
The Hex change isn't "good", it's overpowered. Allhex was used on noobs who do not know how to cure a lock anyway. And now hexers can carry their hexes around and doublewhammy with them. That removes their only disadvantage - lack of mobility.

The change doesn't impact much, --Whenever I fought you I found it easier to just allhex and nightkiss with fae, that was usually enough. Though for the top tier combat the hexaura change is something that will give us a decent chance to fight high level/might/skilled people, because our aeon does not stick like waning can, all you have to do is leave the room, it can't be reapplied easily--so yes, whee for changes!

Guardians really didn't need this, they were powerful enough before and it makes their combat pretty damn easy.

normal balance.
This should be a pretty good solution, I want to check later but good thinking whoever's idea that was.

Yeah, a little. Oh well.

Now I can charge around on my mammoth ALL DAY LONG. At faster speeds.

The Sprint change is nice, not overpoweredly nice, but nice.
I've also heard people calling for that hex and succumb change for a long time.

Excellent. Hexaura is useful now for more besides ambushing low might combatants.
Unknown2006-07-08 05:11:43
So now Nihilists have gone from decent to strong and celestines have gone from overpowered to AIIIIIEEEEE!
Unknown2006-07-08 06:22:37
Heh, awesome, hexaura is now a defense worth it to keep up at all times. Though I agree, this makes a very powerful skillset even more powerful. I shudder at the prospect.
Did Guardians really need the change to order invested though? Prior they wouldn't use a wide range of afflictions to insure that they gave what they wanted... now with the ability to set all afflictions for devastating combinations? Meh.
But of course it's best not to worry and see how everything plays out, I'm sure it'll be fine.![smile.gif](style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif)
