It's not a reliable test, but I tried it out just to see what happened. Furrikin, fully deffed (Drawdown, Aura, Maiden blessings), magic proofed robe: Nature curse does 76 damage. In comparison, KICK did 78. Moonburst was under 300. I have inept Magic, and was being attacked by a High Elfen.

Shamarah's symbol hits me for under 300 damage. Inquisition wore off and I was still yellow, with no regeneration or sipping or berries.

If it weren’t so wrong, it would be hilarious. The problem I see is the way defense stacking is approached. Each layer of defense is directly stacking with the other, so the percentages are being added together. What probably needs to happen is making each layer of defense only reduce the damage that is left after the previous defense has done its part.

How bout that miss ratio change to warriors?? Looks like they got it backwards

Eternally vigilant, a hooded gatekeeper stands here, awaiting the opening of his gateway. Flesh slowly sloughing off its bones, a garghoul stands here festering.
You see exits leading north, south, southwest, and northwest.

That is just wrong sad.gif Especially when you have only 1 weapon. Missing 4 times in a row against a shade or wight could cost you your life.
Ixion2006-07-11 20:21:26
That's FOUR misses in a row.

Before the so called 'upgrade' to warrior to-hits, I NEVER in my warrior life, which has been hundreds of thousands if not millions of swings, missed four times in a row. Ever.

Please fix this...

Edit: not only was it 4 misses, it was four misses by a pureblade. That's like 8 misses in a row for a BM/BC. Just wow..
Daganev2006-07-11 20:32:15
How do you even fix that?

I guess they could say, if you miss, you have a 100% chance of hitting, and just not touch the code that says if you hit, you have a less than 90% chance of hitting again.
Genos2006-07-11 20:37:48
They just need to make Warriors hit every time while bashing and -then- adjust bashing damage for them accordingly.

It's very simple... they already calculate how much damage we hit for with our dam stats on weapons... just make it so we never miss just like the rest of the basin. What happened to me was insane.
Unknown2006-07-11 22:13:14
You get four swings for every one garghoul attack? Christ.
Vix2006-07-11 22:14:28
Swing time is halved when you miss.

QUOTE(Vix @ Jul 11 2006, 06:14 PM) 306656

Swing time is halved when you miss.

And yeah sometimes the garghouls dont attack right off they sit there. but that is if you are lucky. I have been in a middle of a fight with them and they just leave too. So yes I was at least lucky in the part of missing 4 times I was only attacked once. Point still being 4 PB misses like Ixion said is like 8 BM/BC misses.
Athana2006-07-11 23:05:34
Casting time when you hit shield is halved also

Do they lifesteal? Creatures that lifesteal sometimes leave if they have full health.
Soll2006-07-11 23:23:12
Ugh. I hate creatures that lifesteal. sad.gif But only the garshades do that, in the Catacombs.
Ildaudid2006-07-11 23:27:44
No I've never noticed a garghoul lifesteal, that should be the shades only. Wights' hits are insane like but when you hit them again they have never healed themselves, so that averages out. Don't get me started on the garshades though. They are not even worth fighting. I was fighting one for I swear 5-10 mins and went through 30 sparkleberries and still didn't kill it. It just heals up. I hate those censor.gif things. For the exp/gold they drop they are not worth the sparklies it takes to try and solo one. You will be one broke bastard. sad.gif

Agreed. So totally. sad.gif
Terenas2006-07-11 23:42:56
I think it's true that warriors have 90% hit rate against average mobs but against powerful Astral, Manifestations, and Catacomb creatures you will miss a lot more frequently, it's the same on Achaea against all the honor mobs. I sincerely don't see why Precision can't be a dual factor in determing both accuracy and wounding. Warriors have enough to worry about as it is with parrying, stancing, aura, and swing's inaccuracy. Throw us a bone here! pleasesign.gif

Edit- Roark is reading this thread, there is hope yet!

Incorrect.

There are four other creatures who lifesteal, and they are named.
Unknown2006-07-11 23:57:20
Giant Bats lifesteal as well.

Sorry, I meant the generic creatures, meaning: Garshades, garghouls, garwights, and garskulls.
Shamarah2006-07-12 00:13:09
Slugs in the Facility lifesteal too.

That was amusing, yet sad.

Edit: Note - trans combat, stanced/parried. And faeling size/dex.
