but it takes one of the major benifits of using the trees, raise cudgel is for sap, and for taking someone's ents, now it's only for sap... In trees is getting weaker and weaker a.k.a. taking part of our offensive benefits=nerf

A buff to another class does not a nerf to your class make.
I think he means Druids aren't able to mess with entourages anymore. Before, the elevation changes meant you could generally keep a guardian/wiccan away from their fae/angel/demon 50% of the time. Now elevation changes won't really do that.
Not that I'm saying its a bad thing, it's probably not, but it is something that Druids can't do anymore that they used to be quite good at.

Channels was a major nerf to druidic combat.
Yeah, because you so needed to be able to destroy my ENTIRE OFFENSE with a passive effect.

It's a boost to guardian and wiccans, particularly against druid demesnes. As I said, its not necessarily a bad thing.
Is it that much different from being able to destroy our entire offense by flooding/tainting, though?
Edit: Oh, and Tuek... just submit the phantoms change this round?

Because you being able to destroy their entire offense with a passive effect (read: love potion), is completely fair?

Seriously, don't even try to compare love potion with treelife.

Because love potion is better? Forcing the Druid to reject and throwing themselves off equilibrium, with the chance of being afflicted again before they actually get eq back if they didn't catch it right away?
And because an ent-user could always just 'd' to get back to their ents after a short stun, not wasting any extra balance or equilibrium?
Or am I missing something?

Don't forget the big picture. Warriors were able to just tackle us away from our ents and then blocking the way, basically opening us to at least two combos without any pet around. While that doesn't seem much, it can give an edge. And I don't say that we could get our pet back for certain after this combo.

Because flying doesn't get you past a blocking warrior or anything.. right?
Edit: And that only applies to Nihilists/Celestines. Wiccans can leap.

Constructive feedback perhaps?

Tumble gets you through, too. Or you just could've darkcalled. But it still loses you enough time for any warriors to get a few solid hits in. And not like he couldn't just repeat that a few times.

Why all the sudden whining about phantoms? I've never heard people complain about them before now. That much power for an affliction that can be cured almost instantly for a rather small cost, if you have the right skill, and though good isn't really even overpowered?
Ashteru2006-10-02 23:29:29
Not to mention that a right timed treebane/treelife could keep us divided from the thrall forever. if one hits 5 seconds after the other, you have no chance of ever either calling or using it.

It costs 8 power to cure for all non-mage classes.
The reason it has been brought up now is because reality in illusions (comparable to dark/stagcurse/etc) was lowered in powercost quite a bit with the reason being that it should be brought into line with comparable skills.
As phantoms is FAR better powerwise than comparable skills (darkseed, maybe scarab), then it seems only fair that it be adjusted to be in line as well. Darkseed costs 8 power, but is more reliable in entanglements (although it doesn't seem to last as long or is castable at range), so it seems fair that phantoms should cost between 3-5 power.
Sylphas2006-10-02 23:44:08
Reality being brough in line with Dark/stagcurse is freaking silly. You get phantoms + reality for the cost of ours, and that is far better. Phantom is EXCELLENT for it's cost, which is trivial. Ours are decent, but not worth it most times. I can't think of many times I wouldn't stick Phantom on if I could.
Someone envoy a decent buff to our stag. The thing blows as it is.

Can anyone remember Druids without thornlash? We have to be thankful for small mercies at least. ![tongue.gif](style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif)

Nementh2006-10-03 00:00:23
Personally.. thornlash wasn't THAT much of an improvement. It was like being given a chunk of pyriate, only to goto the Jeweler and get laughed at because we were told it was gold.

Top-fighters may have it, top merchants do, for the average joe it's an annoying uncurable affliction machine. ya, I know 'balance at trans' and all that stuff. 8p for a cure is still a lot to ask.

While I can see what you mean, you'll never come across a situation where 5 Aquamancers work together and instantly kill someone with Preserve in the way you mentioned.
Sylphas2006-10-03 00:10:58
It was a huge improvement, then they nerfed it.
Seriously though, buff our goddamned stag.

What are you all talking about? What is 'reality'? Doesn't that just, like, get rid of illusioned terrain or something? I'd never even heard of it before now. And focus spirit (or is it focus mind that cures phantoms?) costs no power.
